we can confirm that the victim's name is amber stanley. she is 17 and was in the honors program at charles flowers high school. police have just told us that a male suspect last night kicked the door in of this home here and shot amber in her bed multiple times. police can't say if amber was the intended target. they were called to the home around 10:23 last night with a report of a shooting. and when they arrived, they did find amber dead from the gunshot wounds. forensic investigators spent most of the night combing the home in the area looking for evidence even looking in trash cans and gutters. neighbors say amber lived in the home with her mother and adult sister, her sister's young son and a foster child a girl said to be in the 11th grade. they don't believe the mother was home at the time of the shooting according to neighbors. they describe amber as a quite the studious girl who didn't run around with a lot of friends. she was in the accelerated honors program at flowers high school. friends and neighbors are saddened and shocked.
