there is some rain falling in atlantic city at the moment. the heaviest is missing atlantic city just off to the south. but we have have been tracking showers and storms here and there. down the shore you're getting soaked again from basically lbi all the way down through the delaware beaches tonight. that's where the storms are. the rest of the region is fine. it's just south jersey and into delaware you can see the camera shakinshaking there gusty wind s well. here the rain again from portions of ocean county all the way down into southern delaware and storms are kind of regenerating along this line so another round has fired up in eastern maryland that's going to come through delaware so i don't think we really clear this out for at least the next several hours. if you're down the shore probably best to just stay inside for the rest of the night some heavy rain and now lightning moving off the coast probably a pretty amazing light show there if you're in stone harbor, avalon, sea isle city still raining heavily there. the worst of lightnin

now we are looking down into the tropical atlantic. we have the remnants of danny over puerto rico, not a big deal. then we also have tropical storm erica. this storm is barely holding on to tropical storm strength. winds are 40 miles an hour, moving to the west at 20. we will be watching this very closely over the next several days to see if maybe it will continue to weaken or at least barely hold on to the strength. look at the storm track, though. it keeps it moving mostly west and this is pretty much in agreement with a lot of the models. it will keep it going west possibly over the bahamas by the weekend. at this time by about sunday, possibly, it could get a little bit stronger if it still is able to hold on and kind of remain as a storm at that point. but there is a big high over bermuda so that should keep it from going out in the atlantic. and a big high which will be moving into our area so that could block it, too. again, the track's pretty uncertain at this point as we go oef the weekend. but as we get closer to weekend, we

erika with a k, has formed in the middle of the atlantic ocean. the as we go from the remnants of danny, bearing down on puerto rico, to erika, tropical storm, still no where near any land but this one bears watching, because by the the end of the weekend it is starting to get pretty close to florida. at least there is our cone of uncertainty but it is heading in more north/northwesterly direction and we on the east coast will to have keep a closer eye on it. by end of the weekend and early part of next week with hurricane. lets talk about the last seven days, and our last time that we reached 90 degrees, was last thursday, and then we were in the 80's. we got close to 90 yesterday and you could feel it it was more humid but wasn't horrible. it was unbearable and today we will take away that humidity. once showers evolve and cold front has come through we are at 86 degrees today. we have showers around this morning. we have eight out of ten but then we will go up to a ten tomorrow and then on thursday, temperatures in the low to mid 80's both days

atlantic city airport, right at 79 degrees. but we will see high pressure building in this weekend and what that's going to do is give more sunshine to the shore points and beaches. so right now, we do see the rain clearing out. it's well offshore but here's what we have seen over the past four hours. we had the rain kind of hanging on in sussex county, rehoboth beach up to cape may but finally it has moved out. it will take the thicker clouds with it. big area of low pressure in the atlantic will be moving away but another one off north carolina will stay offshore as we go into the weekend, increasing our risk for rip currents again. as you see, we go into saturday. the low moves away and the second one, that will stay to our south. it won't move in. what it could do early tomorrow is still provide some cloud cover along the shore points and the delaware beaches. there's a chance we could see a stray shower out of that. most of the area will stay dry. then we go into sunday and high pressure kind of stays in control. still giv

just to the north of atlantic city, closer to 2:00 p.m. keep that in mind depending where you plan to head to the shore tomorrow. these showers should start to clear up, especially out of our area heading into sunday night. our shore and beach forecast shows that as we push into saturday, mostly sunny skies with a high of 80 degrees. take a look at sunday. isolated stray showers a possibility but we will see temperatures staying right around 80 degrees. water temperature is 67 so it will still be a really nice weekend if you want to head down the shore, or to the delaware beaches. keeping a close eye on hurricane danny, now a category 3 with wind speeds sustained at 115 miles per hour, moving really slowly to the west-northwest at ten miles per hour. it will take a few more days before we see any remnants of this hurricane pushing onshore affecting any islands in the region. our poconos forecast shows by saturday, 76, sunny and nice. on sunday, 78, mostly sunny skies. then we will also see our temperatures staying slightly below our averag

from our jersey shore bureau, we are on the strike watch in atlantic city. the main casino workers union is threatening a walkout at the trump taj mahal. the union says it will load a storage trailer with supplies needed for a strike. the union wants the taj to restore its health insurance and pensions. a bankruptcy judge okayed eliminating those benefits last fall. the casino says it plans to stay open during the strike. the trump taj mahal is the only one of atlantic city's eight casinos that did not show a profit in the second quarter this year. the casinos posted a combined 28% increase in gross operating profit. ber g borgata made the most and the golden nugget had the biggest year-over-year increase. >>> you can see the smoke billowing out of the graviton ride here in monmouth county, keansburg park. an alert worker jumped into action. >> he did a great job. he noticed something was not right and noticed thetgpw neces people in our organization. >> they're all freaking out. we thought everything was going to catch fire. >> the first thing that will com

but there is more rain down in the tropical atlantic. first here are the remnants of danny over puerto rico, not expected to be an issue. further back off to the east sthoe, approaching the lesser antilles, this is tropical storm erika, barely holding on to the strength. here's the updated track, it's going to continue moving west, now over the next few days, it's not expected to increase in intensity, still possibly tropical storm by friday, it's expected to encounter some unfavorable atmospheric conditions, then as it moves over the bahamas, or near the bahamas, it could increase to a hurricane at that time which will put it closer to the united states, obviously closer to florida, but that cone of uncertainty gets wider too so we will certainly be watching that. and over the weekend the models will have a better handle on this too. either way high pressure in the atlantic and over the eastern sea board, that should create a block, although we will certainly be tracking any changes as we go through the end of the week. tonight, clear a
