so with rain in the forecast, el nino is probably still on your mind. if you missed our 5:00 show, i want to take you to el nino and the current strength. we are now ranking third when you compare the sea surface temperatures for july, august and september. first was 1997, second was 1987. so what does the ranking mean when it comes to rainfall chances across the bay area? the way it looks now, mid-december through march, is the window of that enhanced rainfall for us. so this will put us at 40% chance of above average rain, 33% chance of average rain and something i didn't even want to put on there, but obviously we do, a 27% chance that we will have a dry winter. i still think this 40% chance of above average rainfall from mid-december through march will continue to go upwards as we head throughout the next 30 days and that will mean much better news when it comes to our drought. as we head throughout our forecast on wednesday, temperatures go down again anywhere from 3 to 7 degrees. this will keep us in the 70s but not as hot. for the peninsula, paci
