a durham police officer shot at the durham county jail. barbara: we were first on the scene -- anthony wilson is there with brand-new details about how the injured officer is doing. reporter: we now know that the officer has been treated at the hospital and released. not as many police cars -- down to seven on the outside. we are looking right now at the area where the incident happened. at is the area where officers bring prisoners to the county jail, under the control of the police. what is not clear is exactly how this happened. whose gun was that? what happened to cause shots to get fired? we can confirm that the only person injured here was the officer. apparently they were able to disarm the suspect without incident -- the suspect is in custody and has not yet been identified. apparently it was a man. we haven't been able to confirm that, but we do know at this hour that the officer is injured, but out of the hospital. we will work hard to get the name of the officer and new information about how it happened.
