david murphy has the details from accuweather. >> i found the sky 6 hd shot you showed. the skies looked like they were brightening a bit and that is not good for thunderstorms. if you keep it cloudy the atmosphere is more settled. if we break out with sun that means some of us will get a gusty thunderstorm. for now we see action out to the west and no lightning yet from the shower and that one looks to be heading up to the poconos. and around here light sprinkles to the west and the wider view on stormtracker 6 live double scan clearly shows you the great image of a line of strong storms. the yellow you see outside of this storm system. thunderstorm watches, getting close to the area. and the immediate advent or front line of the thunderstorms, you see the orange developing, that is thunderstorm warnings. a lot of concern to the west and southwest. the question is how far north can the severe activity make it and there is the opportunity for that as can you see the watch boxes pushing up into pennsylvania at this point. that looks like a good line of thunderstorms there

david murphy fog out there. >> reporter: two issues, fog and rain out there. we have rain in the northern suburbs and steadier precipitation highlighted in yellow up north. taking a look outside, we have the fog in our sky 6 cameras. including center city you can see a couple of blocks down the road. if you're going too fast particularly on a highway it's hard to pick up a pedestrian or stalled car or perhaps a deer. so slow it down when you see the fog. the close up view in philadelphia it's light precipitation that's popping through. of course with the fog there's a little drizzle on the windshield. visibility not great. most of us what we're looking at here is fairly light precipitation, it's pulling away in jenkintown and willow grove and pen dell and before too much longer in trenton. downingtown and coatsville, malvern picking up some of it. the steadier stuff is to the north and west, allentown and easton is picking up the steadier cells. they will be gone in 15 or 20 minutes. there's more stuff coming through reading that is can -- chugging through the

. >> we're getting one more day of spring this week, let's go over to david murphy an karen rogers. >> reporter: looks like a beautiful today, tonight things change in a hurry. in the northern suburbs up to the poconos there's a winter weather advisory that kicks in at midnight. it doesn't move in until noon tomorrow, we'll have rain change over to snow. we'll have wet snow in philadelphia and down by the shore at some point. surface temperatures will be warm, it won't be a major impact on roads. slippery conditions possible in northern bucks county and north of there. satellite and radar shows you nothing going on, there's cloud cover to the south, we expect sun to start out. looks like we'll stay fairly bright today. 53 degrees currently, too, it's not that chilly out there. jacket weather, but not too bad. a little bit of a breeze at 16 miles per hour currently. 49 degrees by 7:00 a.m. shooting up to 58 by noon. we expect a high of 61 degrees by 3:00 p.m. holding 51 by 7378. from there the temperatures drop as that precipitation comes through we'll see wet snow and slippery conditi

. >> david murphy is off, karen rogers is here with the track of the storm. >> reporter: we have a winter storm warning that goes into effect at 8:00 p.m. tonight and lasts through tuesday, the first snowflakes falling around midnight tonight. you see how widespread the warning area is at this point. they have extended it through hammonton, millville and atlantic city. that winter storm warning goes into effect tonight. let's look at the temperatures. it is cold out there, we have the arctic air moved in friday into saturday, the storm set up begins with the colder road surfaces, colder ground surfaces, that is significant. 16, 19, allentown, reading, 17 in millville. satellite and radar showing we'll see lots of sunshine, fading behind clouds. it's a sun to clouds day, high of 36. colder winds switch to the east, 6 to 12 miles per hour. here's what to expect with the storm, heavy wet snow we could see limbs down and power outages, and strong accumulations across the i-95 corridor and north and west where you could see over a foot of snow. strong winds coastal flooding a possibility, too.
