i think nevada might be an open carry state. quite clearly just listening to the sounds of those shots, it was -- at least one of those weapons was fully automatic. by that i mean you keep pressing the trigger and it keeps firing until the magazine is empty. semi-automatic is one you can fire rapidly but it requires a trigger pull. at least one of those weapons was a full automatic. it was quite likely a military style weapon. it had military style ammunition which can create incredible damage and not only hit one person but go through several people because they're that powerful. >> what is the rational why private individuals should be able to buy weapons like that? >> it's america. it's a country that's had a fascination with weaponry. incidents like this will encourage more people to buy more weapons like that. >> why? >> that's always been the tendency. they go out and get weapons and protect themselves. maybe this incident will lead to more gun restrictions so i better go get my guns in case they change the law. >> does th

what do you think about the rest of the state of nevada? can an event like this, something so tragic, actually have an impact and change anything? because we've seen horrible events happen in the past. unfortunately, it's created more advocacy, but no law changes. >> exactly. i mean but you see the same polarization, right, stephanie? you see the same discussion taking place on the left and the right. i had a conversation with a friend the other day. if they're not going to change laws, if they're not going to take some action after sandy hook where you had these children killed, why would this change anything? >> okay, but if i'm steve wynn, if i'm sheldon adelson, big republicans that own big casinos and resorts here, what do i want? >> i think they want to make sure people will keep coming here. they're very insular in their thinking. >> and they don't want something like this happening on their property. >> steve wynn, i interviewed him last year. he has set up essentially a counterterrorism unit inside the wynn resort. he's got plaincl

we will get back to you in mesquite, nevada. the las vegas area, hospitals are inundated in southern nevada. this is the only level one trauma center in nevada. the spokes woman for the hospital and is joining us now. what can you tell us about the conditions of the patients at your facility? >> good afternoon. we received 104 patients since last night when the shooting happened. 12 of the patients are still in critical condition this morning. eight of them had to go straight back to the operating rooms. we have a stand alone trauma center here at umc meaning everything we need to care for critical patients is contained in our four walls. we are not moving patients around the hospital. they are contained to be cared for. other patients drove themselves to the emergency department and were cared for in the emergency department while more critically injured were being cared for in the trauma center. >> if someone thinks a family member might be hospitalized, what should they do? >> simply call our main line for now. 702-383-2000.

they went to his house in mesquite, nevada. they had a search warrant and they went through his home and they found guns and ammunition but so far nothing to indicate a possible motive. there is cell phone video as you can see of the chaos that erupted after the shots ring out, 25th -- 22,000 people at the concert at the time and many in the hospital this morning, not only dealing with gunshot wounds but the hospital say a lot of the victims have trample wounds as they fell and others stepped on them as they were fleeing. we tracked down stephen paddock's brother in here's what he said about the shooting . >> he's never shot, he's never even drawn his gun. in makes no sense. he's never hit anyone, he had a couple handguns i think, he had a safe with a couple handguns, maybe one long rifle, he had no automatic weapons that i knew of at any time. >> a couple -- a couple bullet points the las vegas sheriff said i don't know how this could've been prevented. stephen paddock checked himself into the hotel the 28th and yes there were

teams to breach paddock's second home in reno, nevada. they also gave us information on what they took from his home outside of vegas in mess 88 -- mesquite, nevada, an additional firearms, explosionives and ammo rounds and hard drives from the computer, fbi will review, andy this found several pounds of ammonia nitrate in his car, that is used to make explosionives, they gave details about how paddock got 17 guns into his hotel room. he packed them in to 10 suitcases, some rifles had scopes, a source tells fox news that paddock purchased 30 firearms throughout his life, he passed at least 30 background checks, they have identified several gun dealers that sold him firearms, one. chris sullivan, released a statement saying that paddock did not raise any red flags, saying mr. paddock was a customer and purchased firearms from our store, aller necessary back ground checks and procedures were required, he never gave any indication or reason to believe he was unstable or unfit at any time. officials say, they are investigating paddock's girlf
