mueller, that woman has never met robert mueller. she doesn't know him. she's never met him. she doesn't know what any of this about. upon receiving that e-mail offering her money to talk about her robert mueller encounters, she did what is probably the smart thing. she sent it on to robert mueller. she sent to it the special counsel's office so they at least know this was happening. ultimately, what we've seen over the course of today is that reporters have started to dig into surefire intelligence and this guy who supposedly had been hired to look into robert mueller's supposed past. now i mentioned a moment ago that the person hyping that a big scandal was about to break concerning robert mueller is sort of a little known pro-trump twitter personality. he is a guy named jacob wohl. that's who has been saying hey, this lobbyist is about to break this big scandal about robert mueller here. he's hired an intelligence firm, and that intelligence firm has done an investigation and found out this terrible thing about robert mueller. wel

but he did today to protect robert mueller. mueller spokesperson peter carr said, when we learned of allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about the special counsel, we immediately referred to matter to the fbi for investigation. according to a report in the "atlantic," a woman named lorraine parsons has been e-mail reporters that she first offered $20,000 by a man claiming to work for a firm called surefire intelligence, which had been hired by a gop activists named jack burkman to make accusations of workplace harassment against robert mueller. jack burkman is a right-wing radio host and conspiracy theorist. horror lain parsons hasn't been willing to speak directly to reporters, but today a second woman also said that she was contacted by this group that calls itself surefire intelligence with an offer to pay her to discuss encounters with robert mueller. at the same time those women were contacted, jack burkman posted a video to facebook where he claimed without evidence at all that robert mueller ha

he met with him multiple times, answering questions about mueller's desire to fire robert mueller himself, to want to pressure jeff sessions to recuse himself. so this kind of is part of this big tumultuous relationship that has continued between these men despite meghan getting two supreme court justices on the bench for trump. a weird way to end this relationship with mueller fixated on the investigation while he's having his final good-bye chat with meghan. >> john, you heard her sort of explanation, a bizarre way to leave the building. is this all about the blame game? >> he gave rod rosenstein a break for the day and blamed somebody else for the investigation. the fbi had ample reason to start the counterintelligence investigation of russian meddling, ample list of questions about possible members with the trump campaign. jeff sessions followed a law book 101, first year law student directly. this is what the president does. he lashes out and blames others. he hasn't blamed don jr. for bringing russians into the trump tower in the middle of the campaign. this is what the president do

i don't think robert mueller is going after roger stone just for that reason. but if roger stone decides to cooperate because he sees that evidence of him having committed a crime is very strong, i have little doubt that like michael cohen, like manafort, he will. and with stone, you know, what's going to be key here is electronic evidence. i mean, witnesses, he could put witnesses in the grand jury, and they have and they will and they will assess their credibility and try to figure out who's telling the truth but it sounds like there's quite an electronic paper trail -- not paper trail, but trail. and that is going to be key because he can't wiggle out of that, stone. and so that is really powerful evidence when prosecutors have an electronic trail to show a subject or defendant or someone who is charged or about to be charged because they know they can't get out of it. >> and congressman, quickly before break, i want to get your reaction to john bolton telling the russians today your attack on our election had no effect. >> well, we don't know that because w
