fog up in the north bay in the usual spots. let's talk about your highlights for this forecast period. partly cloudy today. you'll need the sunglasses. a quiet pattern once again. seasonal temperatures tonight as the high clouds blanket us again with patchy fog in the north bay. it will change this weekend. more clouds, a little bit cooler as a cold front gets close. it doesn't bring us rain. what it does do is kick up winds that could cause a heightened fire danger sunday night into monday. right now you can see all that moisture to our west. that is going to head to the north other than a few high clouds. look how close we are to the santa ana wind event. you can see that dry air backing its way from vegas across the high desert and heading towards southern california. that's why they're going to have such a high fire danger today through saturday. back here at home, 61 to 66 our highs today. couple degrees warmer than average. tonight, mid to upper 30s inland. low to mid 40s around the bay. that's close to average. here's my

it into the north bay first. and then it really just weakens as it continues to approach parts of the east bay and south bay. so we are looking at some higher rainfall totals in the north bay and then it starts to wind down heading into late friday night into early saturday morning. saturday at noon, it's looking pretty much all clear so you could make some plans to get outside. and our rainfall totals mostly will be about a tenth of an inch with this initial round of rain and then with the next round coming in on sunday into monday adds up more of the rainfall totals and we could still have more wet weather heading into next week and potential of half an inch of rain here and up to 11 inches of snow in the sierra. doesn't look as hefty as it did with the original runs of the computer models, but the system does look like it won't get that deep subtropical moisture. so the rainfall and snowfall totals will be lighter for us. but through the forecast, it will be cool and we do have some chilly weather. heading int

north bay. the best rain from the first system, and there are two separate weather systems coming our way, this first one is focused mainly in the evening hours. watch the time stamp. that says 8:00. that's when we start to see best widespread rain showing up. we will take that from 8:00 and play that through about 11:00 and then about 1:00 or 2:00 and we start to quiet things. there is your first wave. it will come in tonight. that means for saturday, we keep clouds around. saturday you could get a stray shower. saturday most of the day is in between systems. and sunday looks more impressive. let's bring in sunday's rain. that gets us to the predawn hours of sunday morning at 4:00. look at how well organized the line is. in order to watch this on futurecast, we will bring the resolution down a little bit so we can play that through the day. watch what happens. a well organized line marches across the bay area from sunrise through about early afternoon. as that first wave clears the south bay, a
