welcome to "squawk box" here on cnbc i'm becky quick along with joe kernen and andrew ross sorkin, and as joe mentioned we're watching the u.s. equity futures this morning yesterday we did see a break in the four-day winning streak we've seen for both the s&p 500 and the dow but it wasn't by as much as we had seen when we were watching the futures earlier in the morning. dow was only down by i think it was a third of a percentage point, maybe a little less than that the s&p was down by about 2/3 of a percentage point nasdaq was hit a little harder, down by 1 1/4% this morning there are green arrows, dow futures up 65 points, s&p futures up by close to 10, the nasdaq up by about 50 the treasury market we have been watching closely recently as you have seen an increase in the yields there this morning the yield on the ten-year note is up once again, 1.16%. it doesn't sound like a lot but when you think about how quickly this has moved, it's been less than a week, and we have gone from under 1% to 1.16% so that is significant of course that's nothing compared to what you watch with bitcoi

he's a cnbc contributor. as you read the results i'm curious what your first read on them was and how you think they do compare to the pfizer and moderna vaccine? >> yeah, they're very good results. these results were out in a pre-print server it had longer term follow-up so we got a look at more data in this publication that came out last night some of the things that looked encouraging are the antibody levels kept going up and they followed them out 71 days and the antibody levels kept going up this is fairly consistent with the mrna vaccine this looks like a good profile for the vaccine. this could be potentially a one dose vaccine that remains to be seen. they're testing it as a one dose and they're testing two doses. the open question is whether or not older individuals who are less likely to mount a robust immune response to any vaccine will require two doses to get a full immune response to the vaccine. we don't know the answer it's possible. all in all this is a good result it's an indication we'll ha

i'm seema modi from cnbc business news. stocks set to open higher ahead of biden's inauguration tomorrow and a flood of earnings report that wall street will be keeping a close eye on. the markets did suffer its worst week last week since october, where the dow fell 1%. the s&p 500 and nasdaq down about 1.5%. traders say this week they'll be focused on the inauguration to see if things flow smoothly and also to see if republicans in the senate will approve biden's agenda. earnings in focus today, it will be goldman sachs, bank of america and netflix. >>> janet yellen, president-elect biden's treasury nominee for treasury secretary. in her prepared remarks the former head of the federal reserve is calling on congress to do more to fight a recession brought on by the pan emic. yellen says the threat of an even worse downturn is too great to reduce her support now and the smartest thing we can do now is to act big. last week biden unveiled a $1.9 trillion economic relief pan. >>> pizza hut is trying a new way to make drone del

. ♪ good morning, everyone, welcome to "squawk box" here on cnbc i'm becky quick, along with joe kernen and andrew ross sorkin. it is inauguration day we are continuing to watch the markets this morning, and ahead of all of this, the markets which have been up so sharply are kind of treading water this morning. they were up yesterday, and in fact, the nasdaq was the big gainer yesterday it was up by about 1 1/2%. this morning the nasdaq's indicated up another 107 points. dow was up by about 100 points yesterday, and this morning it's up another 85, and the s&p is indicated up by about 16 points, probably worth pointing out that since the election back in november, the s&p is up by 12.8%, just a gauge of where things have gone to show you how strong these markets have been again, s&p has moved hundreds of points 12.8% gain since election day. let's also take a look at what's been happening in the treasury market you'll see that right now it looks like the ten-year is yielding right around 1.104% andrew, much happening this morning, and we'll be focusing on washington through much of the
