collins scored a rare endorsement last week from trump rival brian kemp, the governor of georgia. joining us now is conservative cnn political commentator scott jennings. good to see you. let's start with the potency of the trump endorsement. we see it's not worth much in georgia after the loss and now this loss. what's your assessment? >> well, it's still a pretty good endorsement to have. i think it works best when it's coupled with other endorsements. so if you're like a single-issue candidate which is to say i am trump and trump only and i want nothing else, that doesn't seem to be as effective as when you have trump plus other people endorsing you. in the case of katie britt in alabama, that was the case. trump was a bandwagon endorse endorsement. he got on late. i'm glad he was part of the team and glad she won. i don't think he was the defining reason that he defeated mo brooks. >> as you know, there's a lot of debate about whether or not the january 6th hearings are changing anyone's perspective if only people who are so inclined are tuning in. it was interesting to hear f

we have seen those candidates who are big names in their states, people like brian kemp, even brad raffensperger and donald trump seems to be doing his endorsements based on one standard and that is do you agree with him that the election was stolen through widespread fraud? and if you don't, then he's going to oppose. >> you know, the panel has not heard from mike pence himself. we did learn a lot from the people around him in the days leading up, on that day. do you think ultimately there are things we will never learn unless we hear from mike pence directly? >> i think in a perfect world we would hear from mike pence because i think there are some conversations that only he and donald trump know the content of, when they were talking on the phone, for example. i think this is probably strategically the committee is going to get. if they went toe to toe with mike pence to get this information, he would be less than a friendly witness. he might be a bit of a hostile witness. he is in a politically frustrate position. i think using his close aides was about the closest they were going to get. th
