do you think that could pass in south dakota? >> going back to where it should, back to the people and back to the states, i like the idea of having people actually debate and discuss the issue. in south dakota we had a trigger law that we signed when i was governor. that said basically abortion was going to be illegal unless to save the life of the mother. the legislature can come back in 17 years since that trigger law was put in effect, and they'll be able to discuss it, debate it, take public testimony and come back what's best. at the same time, in south dakota like other states, if the legislature doesn't do something that finds consensus there's always the possibility of a referendum, so it's back where it should be. and that's back to the states and we'll let the people and legislative bodies decide exactly what they think is the long-term approach. me personally i'm pro-life. i believe that abortion is wrong, but this is an issue that the legislative body should take on and they should debate it and what will be the test
