a southwest wind at 10. a view of 880 there, and some low clouds getting in the way of our view, looking out to the bay bridge in san francisco. 58 degrees to start off your morning. southwest wind at 9 miles per hour. good healthy sea breeze pumping in low clouds inland, all the way into solano county. look at the winds from fairfield southwest at 25. those winds, good news for air quality. no problems there. good all around the bay area today. and an interesting view on the satellite radar view. you can see a system here crossing over the sierra. the radar is showing some activity, except below that, it's just too dry to come down in any snow or rain. but what it's doing is reinforcing the dip in the jet stream across the west coast. this is the reason why we just have not been able to warm up around the bay area. that will be the case again today. summer drizzle along the coast and peninsula inland, 60s and 70s, but high pressure should start to build back in our direction beginning friday and saturday. s

you can see southwest winds at 25 into solano county. that is the cool marine air spilling inland with low clouds all the way out to the altamont pass this morning. which is great news for your air quality. you're not going to find better air quality this time of year thanks to the sea breeze. the satellite view is pretty interesting. this looks more like october. we've got a weather system that is crossing over the sierra. i know the radar makes you think that it's raining up there, but the air at ground level is pretty dry. this system is reinforcing this trough and you can kind of see the upper level winds here. this dip in the jet stream, this is the reason why we haven't been able to warm up. that trough has been hanging occupien the west coast for most of the months so far. it will hang on today, probably into tomorrow, and high pressure building back towards central california for the weekend means 90s inland out toward the tri-valley. mid-80s for san jose and likely low 90s around morgan hill. all this getting started just in tim

there's not much wind yet but once the fog bumps off, even out to fairfield. west-southwest 15. they had gusts to 29 earlier. this is a pattern that's just locked in. i don't mean just us, i mean the entire -- i know it was spain and portugal had their coolestup since 197. there are areas that are cool and other areas that are unbelievably hot and humid. it's been persisting for so long. for us, temperatures remain below average. if august continues in the pattern we're in now. it will, the fifth consecutive month our temperatures have come in below average. i don't see any reason why it shouldn't. honest to goodness, i really don't. the reason being a series of systems. they don't have to be that strong move into the pacific. that low right off seattle keeps low pressure off of us. that keeps -- it doesn't take much. any heat in the valley can -- it doesn't take much. there goes the fog machine. 60s by the coast. even santa cruz is hard-pressed to hit 70. 52 san rafael/napa. livermore/concord 57. i think i saw a 58 at moffet but other than that, everybody is close. low clouds,
