it should be noted interim mayor ed lee has not been raising this money himself. this has been rafd by a political action committee set up by his supporters. the committee had to file a campaign report. it does show there is financial support for him to run but the support is coming in the form of large checks from just a few people suggesting that at least right now there is not a tremendous amount of grassroots support from ordinary voters but again that could change if he actually nouns an intent to run. here are the numbers as compiled by bay citizen. progress for all, that's the political action committee raised 49,000 between months of may and june of this year. a huge chunk of that money $41,000 came from just seven individuals, the rest came in the form of small checks from almost 180 citizens. the big checks came mostly from business people and most, if not all of them, with ties to a woman named rose pac. she's a lobbyist for the chinese chamber of commerce in the city and the bay citizen reports she's considered a kingmaker because of her long-standing
