[ cheers and applause ] she and i went to dinner. the bill came. we split the bill. we each put our credit cards in. the bill came back. we signed our checks. we left. to, uh -- like, the beginning of this week i paid for a dinner thinking i still have my credit card. turns out i took hers. so, i immediately feel terrible because i paid for a couple meals with her credit card. so, i text her, "hey, i have your credit card and

[ laughter ] so it's a really -- it's this reaction where it's just like, i start to sneeze and i get like, you know, hives and everything. it's very specific. >> seth: so as long as you don't come in contact with the leaning tower of pisa, you're fine. >> fred: yes, usually. i mean, unless there are little statues of it. [ laughter ] because that's how i discovered it. because i was at an allergist's office and he had a little leaning tower of pisa and i started to feel it. in 1952, when a man named fred ross and no body has heard of him and that is too bad. but he was an important community organizer and ran a group called the community service organization which was almost exclusively in california and it was the first part of the mexican-american civil rights movement. he went to san jose in 1952 and started holding house meetings where you invite people over and talk about their concerns and needs and try to get people engaged in collective community organizing. and he meets cesar chavez at a meeting and here is where we can tie into the legend because part of the legend is fred ross wrote in his journal i think i found the guy i am look for. and you can find that quote in lots of books and scholarly works but that is in fact made up. and i found the actual entry in fred ross' journal from that night and he says something positive. he says cesar chavez has great potential and energy and something very positive about him but not the quote as the legend has become. he immediately -- he is 25 years old, he is really smart and stuck in a

joining us from portland, oregon, is fred dickson. and from atlanta, josh wright, bloomberg economist and former strategist at the fed reserve of new york, where he advised policymakers in the wake of the financial crisis. josh, tell me, what did you make of today's fomc meeting minutes? >> the fed delivered exactly what they were looking for, $45 billion of asset purchases, and other than that not a lot of changes. some changes to the outlook of the economy going forward, but for the moment isn't it sweet sweetfed is in this spot where they have made it clear to the market they are a -- are locked in. meantime, they're going to continue to wait for data to come in. they have made it clear that it will take a couple of months to get a cleaner read on what is going on in the economy. in the meantime, they are not being forced to have any greater clarity on when they raise rates in the future. i think they are probably pretty happy with how the market has responded. there was no reaction today, which i'm sure is what they were hoping fo
