download the free app now by heading to wtkr dot com - slash- apps. a man who pleaded guilty to bringing heroin on board a norfolk based navy ship with his wife was sentenced in federal court today. newschannel three s kurt williams joins us in the control room with the details. lailia -- the former sailor was sentenced to 18 months in prison for distribution of heroin today. 22-year-old donald mcmanus was active duty on board the u- s-s george h-w bush a year ago -- wife breanna smuggled heroin onto the ship. according to court documents -- breanna would hide the drugs and syringes in her bra. then they sold heroin to another sailor for 150- dollars - a few days later -- that sailor was found unresponsive from an overdose. medics say her heart stopped for 14- minutes -- but they were able to bring her back.. mcmanus pleaded guilty in october. he is also sentenced to three years supervised release. his wife also pleaded guilty -- her sentencing is set for next week. live in the control room -- kurt williams, newschannel three. coming up next on newsch
