on to north carolina, north carolina still too close to call. 76% of all precincts reporting. donald trump with a point and a half lead. wake county in north carolina, one of the more urban counties with a larger hispanic and african-american vote, wake county still outstanding. this one could be a little deceptive because of those that call, as of the precincts reporting now, donald trump has a slight edge. it might actual be a hillary clinton slight edge. we're just not sure. big picture if be ear donald trump, you have to have florida, you have to have ohio and north carolina. you have to win all three before you go out west and try to pick up some blue states. right now he has the possibility of getting all three of those states, just as an aside, the upshot from "the new york times" which had this as large 91-9% lead for hillary clinton at one point back before the fbi stuff. more recently today, i believe it opened at 85% for hillary clinton, 15% for donald trump. as i went to vote this morning at ten minutes before 7:00 a.m. on the east coast, that is where we were. rig

let's look down in north carolina. both candidates in that state today, critical to both of their paths. 44% to 41%. about a two point edge for hillary clinton. how does this map out in their path to 270. let's look at the electoral college map. these five yellow states are the remaining tossups. hillary clinton at 268, just two away from the presidency there. let's look at how steep it is for donald trump. i'm going to do this giving him a favorable map. the clinton campaign feels very good about nevada, that gets her over 274 for the moment. let's give arizona to donald trump in this scenario. let's give north carolina to don amd trump in this scenario. and let's say he breaks through part of this blue wall, let's give him michigan, pennsylvania, saw a lot of final day campaign trail activity there, makes florida critical. if hillary clinton can win florida and new hampshire, she's at 271 even losing places like michigan and pennsylvania. but if donald trump can pull it out in florida, this map would make him preside

yesterday ohio, today north carolina. very similar situation here, where weeks ago we saw polls showing hillary clinton with a pretty sizable lead over donald trump. and then you saw the tightening. i mean, in both of these states it get down to the point some polls show trump in the lead. others show hillary clinton with a smaller lead. so obviously the campaign feels, this is where president obama can be most effective at the end. also, with early voting. i mean in this state, there are -- there's a lead of democrats over republicans, about a 13 percentage point lead over who's early voting, but those numbers are not where they were four years ago. same thing with african-americans. that's a reason for the campaign to worry about it. especially since larger numbers of republicans usually turn up op the day of the election. in this election, there's a lot of question marks out there. you see the urgency here. so president obama has been trying to make that appeal to the people that hillary clinton needs. young people, an
