a south san francisco officer who is attacked by someone is still in the hospital recovering from very serious injuries. tara joins us live the hall of justice with the latest on his condition. >> well, he is improving although he is still listed in critical condition. he had been in a medically induced coma days after being attacked by a skateboard. it was very touching -- touch and go at the beginning but now they have received news obviously some good news he is conscious and as of yesterday they say he gave a thumbs-up sign. his friends had set up an account has raised more than $100,000 for his wife and two young boys. they say he was chasing a 28- year-old who had taken off on a skateboard when officers approached him for causing a disturbance on grand avenue they say the suspect turn and hit him in the head knocking him unconscious. of the most disturbing details within hours of the attack a well-known gang member from south san francisco posted a picture of the officer immediately after the attack lying in a pool of his own blood. and, that photo was taken down the next day on
