kron 4's charles clifford is live tonight in albany with details. charles (charles clifford)well, this afternoon a large group of students here came to express their frustration over several incidents in the past month and the school district says they are doing what they can to keep this from happenig again. natsthursday afternoon, more than 100 kids from albany high school gathered in front of the school to protest the actions of a small group of students who are accused of making nazi gestures and posting these rasict pictures on instagram. in all 7 9th graders have been disciplined, but because of their young age, the school district won't describe what type of discipline they've received and at least some of the students have been allowed to return to classes. many of those who came to thursday's protest feel letting them back into the school is a bad idea. sothonestly, our priority should be the victims and we want to make sure they feel comfortable. if those kids who were the perpetrators who were following the account if they were in the cla

at albany high school, abc7 news. >> san francisco police revealed they arrested a man for shooting a woman to death in the ocean district. this woman died after being shot yesterday morning at plymouth avenue and broad street while walking to catch a muni. the others are expected to survive. th say that man is 24-year-old jonathon santos of vay la jo. >> a person was hit at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. the train had just pulled out of the downtown campbell station. the santa clara sheriff's department is investigating how the person ended up on the tracks. this is the third person his by one of these vehicles in the past week. >>> a fire was put out at sand piper elementary school. they were cooking as part of a multi-cultural observance and it caught fire and one of the parents' arm was burned and two were taken to the hospital and no students were hurt and the school was not damaged. >>> part of an semi-conductintee collapsed. no one was hurt but one local television station believes electrical conduit is suspected. they had to use foam usually used for airplane crashes. >> kate larso

albany, new york for instance is digging out of more than 20 inches of snow. kenneth craig has more. >> reporter: snow plows were out in force early wednesday morning in buffalo, new york. trying to keep the roads clear. in binghamton, new york, a record 30 inches of snow fell tuesday, making travel difficult. the state capital albany also got more than 20 inches. in new york city, about 7 inches fell. much less than forecasters predicted. meteorologist jeff barradelli says the path of the storm was closer to the coast than expected. >> it was able to get the warm air just a little bit further inland. so instead of it falling as pure snow and rain and sleet and that limited totals in the big cities. >> reporter: on top of the snow, new york city and much of the northeast is dealing with freezing temperatures, making clean-up even more difficult. in scranton, pennsylvania, drivers had to use shovels to clear off their trucks. about half a foot of snow also fell in boston. in one boston suburb, a tree came crashing down into the roof of the home. >> went through

racist instagram posts targeting african-americans and other minority students at albany high school. the principal learned about the posts on monday and started an investigation right away. the account shows racist pictures and statements targeting minority students and a basketabll coach from albany high. we blurred many of the photos due to their graphic content. the mother of one of the students being targeted says the account was created by a number of juniors at the school. <>( darya ) the school ( darya ) the school district released a statement in part saying it is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students and the account will not be tolerated. counselors are being provided for student support. police are also conducting their own investigation.
