fox 29's chris o'connell in avalon. down here at the jersey shore, it certainly wasn't snow that was the problem with this winter storm. but it certainly was flooding and beach erosion right now we are on the beach here in avalon where just a couple days ago, they started staging this huge equipment here to replenish the beach here in avalon and this is really becoming a regular thing. these nor'easters are just causing havoc with every wind that blows, with every wave that washes on to the beach, it really washes away some of this precious beach line. take look what we saw in ocean city. you see the waves just carving out the beach. taking away 20, 30, 40 feet of beach and this is what is causing that beach erosion. just nasty, nasty waves crashing on to the beach in ocean city. three or 4 feet above head high and that is what causes this beach erosion. we talked to couple surfers who were out there today. we couldn't believe they were surfing in what looked like a washing machine. >> hardest part was either musting up

chris o'connell reports. there was no reason for him to die. that's a terrible thing. >> reporter: the pain is still fresh 86 years later. suzie williams carter was just an infant when her brother alexander mc clay williams made headlines in 1931. the youngest person known to be put to death in pennsylvania's electric chair at the age of 16. he was the oldest of 13 children. she never new him. >> well i always thought that he didn't do it. my mother said he didn't do it. >> reporter: while serving four years at what is now known as the glenn mills school a facility for juvenile delinquents, williams was conicted of the bloody murder of 33-year-old house matron vita robare stabbed 47 times ice pick in the cottage where she lived with her husband who taught farming at the school. williams was doing chores unsupervised at the time of the murder but according to records, he quickly confessed to the crime. he was arres arrested october 1h of 1930 and executed june 8th, 1931, just 243 days later. >> why was this kid, um, kind of jew additionally lync

good evening everyone, i'm chris o'connell. >> i'm dawn timmeney. your weather authority said it could get messy and, boy, were they right. this is just how hard it was snowing late this morning on market street in old city. in wayne we got over 4-inches when you looked out of the studio windows it was kind of like we were in a snow globe. and now we're talking bitter cold temperatures. monica cryan is here to tell us how long winter will be sticking around. >> guys, we can catch a break. one the snow is gone, now we're really filtering in some of that colder air. let's talk snowfall totals very quickly. pennsylvania saw the most amount of snow. anywhere from four to 5-inches like in huffs church. 5.2-inches. horsham 4-inches they saw 4-inches and chesterbrook and chester county 3.7-inches. it was really a wet snow that was kind of heavy to shovel if you did have to shovel any of it off before it really did melt on your sidewalks and on those roadways. ultimate doppler showing us that we do have a few scattered snow squalls that can still cause some
