(grant) kron4's maureen kelly visited a berkeley dispensary. folks there dispensary. folks there say the change will help stay competitive. the lines were long and the sales were brisk this afternoon at the berkeley patient group pot dispensary. that's despite the heavy tax burden being placed on the product now that it's legal....and regulated.right now customers here pay a 15 percent state excise tax, over 9 percent in sales tax, and recreational users pay an extra 10 percent adult use tax. added all up that's a little over 34 percent.this week the city council voted to cut the adult use tax in half to 5 percent...lessening the tax burden on this business just starting to take root. that would make the total tax paid here to just over 29 percent. if a customer bought a 300 dollar ounce of weed, that tax cut would save them 15 bucks.one customer i spoke to thinks that will bring more buyers here to berkley...since oakland also has a 10% city tax on non medical weed.people tell me they're gonna start coming out here to get it because that taxes is kind of ridiculous e

she joins us live from berkeley with their story. hermela? a lot of people were out here tonight.. dozens if not hundreds of people showed up to support kelli zachery's mother and father. they were both composed but still very much visibly emotional.the gathering started at the home where as you can see a vigil has been set up. with kelli's photos and a candle for each year of her life. the family grew up here.. so they know a lot of people and they are obviously very much loved. kellie zachery was on her was to her job at the irs early thursday morning when her honda couple was hit on the driver side by an ac transit bus. the force of the collision was so intense that it sent both vehicles flying into a nearby home. the driver of the bus and one passenger was okay. but zachery did not make it. her friends and family say she was sweet. she was focused. she was going to school for nursing during the day. and what a lot of people say about her is she was happy go lucky. we spoke to her father just a short while ago.. and he says there is one thing that's keeping him going. kelvin zac
