let's bring in our chief meteorologist jeff ranieri, who has a look at the long-range forecast. summer is right around the corner. >> we do think we'll have heightened fire season as we head throughout the summer months. what i want to take a look at in my long-range forecast is what's happening with la nina and el nino. right now we are seeing la nina starting to end. that's likely contributing to some of these milder temperatures we're getting right now. as we head throughout summer, near to above averages temperatures. that would bring lower humidity, also increased fire danger, and some of the new information is there is now a 50% chance fall and winter we could see a weak el nino develop. now, if that weak el nino develops, what would that mean for us? about 86% of normal. historically we've seen of that rainfall for our rain season, better bet towards next fall and winter would go towards southern california. this is the first indication of this. more updates as they come available. i'm back at 11:19 tonight with a new change in the forecast for tomorrow. >> we'll see you
