. >>> i'm ken bastida, the san francisco district attorney's office is now charging an inmate already serving time with a homicide that occurred way back in 2016. in fact, july 14, 1220 a.m., san jose police officers responded to a person who was shot in the 700 block of east mission street in the city. they found the big then, martin cardin is, he was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. then they identified a suspect, jesse gimenez. that is a minister in the mug shot. he assaulted detectives and they obtained an attempted murder arrest warrant for gimenez. he has been in jail since january 27 teen. that is where he is in custody now awaiting trial. but this past week in the santa clara county coroner's office reviewed the tax in the case and ruled the manner of death a homicide. he remains in custody and his charges will be amended to murder. at the live news desk, i am 24. >>> not just on valentine's day but especially today. and there's an easy time for that guys, too. because there's this rosy hue to the sky today. thanks, we got most of those low-grade cows from yesterday.

. >>> i'm ken bastida at the live news desk. we are following a developing story out of the novato area. it's a search for a missing hiker. it's the second big search going on in marin county. that's the guy they're looking for. he's 76-year-old robert bennett, last seen yesterday at about 1:30 wearing a gray flannel shirt and blue jeans and walking toward the valley stone trail head. if you know where that is, that's along the big rock ridge trail in novato. it's a pretty challenging hike, and one of marin's highest in elevation. marin search and rescue with there with teams working out of inverness on the other side. meanwhile that's still an active search going on there. no sign of a couple missing in western marin county since friday. the search continued today for ian irwin and carol kaparsky. they were last seen friday in inverness. more than 100 searchers are scouring the area, and today the couple's son arrived from out of town to assist. we've been following that search all day long. we'll take you inside testimony sear

. >>> i'm ken bastida at the live news desk. federal water regulators have ordered the draining of the largest drinking water reservoir in santa clara county because of earthquake concerns. the regulators say the 240-foot dam at the anderson reservoir located between morgan hill and san jose poses a risk of collapsing if a major quake was to strike. chopper 5 over the reservoir today. crews will begin the process of draining all the water in october. valley water, who owns the anderson says reservoir says this would likely kill wildlife downstream and result in unsafe consequences. valley water released a statement saying quote, a top concern is the potential to damage the intake structure giving us no ways to control flow in the reservoir potentially impacting downstream communities. they say they're exploring other sources of water that come from outside of the county. that's the latest from the live news desk. back to you. >>> all right, ken, thank you. in about 30 minutes, parents will get another update on the toxic ground

good evening, i'm ken bastida. >> and i'm elizabeth cook. the 60-year-old victim died at a hospital in wuhan, china. this comes as some americans are being tested for the virus in northern california. we start with anna giles at travis air force base where some patients were hospitalized after showing symptoms of the virus. >> reporter: 5 people with symptoms of the ro navirus are unrg oithdeey're among hundreds of evacuees brought here to travis air force base. the 5 will stay isolated until doctors can confirm they don't have the virus. symptoms include fever, shortness of breath, and coughing. they were brought to the hospital and placed in isolation, in a room that doesn't vadroplets to escape. the cdc wants to be clear these patients are just showing symptoms and haven't been officially diagnosed. >> people are screened and referred to health care facilities when they have fever or shortness of breath along with any cough. the first one is doing quite well, and we'll have an answer for the last 4 in the next couple of days. >> reporter:
