there is a wind advisory for part of the bay area. it's the north bay. from 8:00 this morning through 4:00 in the afternoon we could see gusts that 40 miles an hour here. if we play this on future cast watch the bright red spots in the afternoon. focused along the coast and in the mountains. mostly in the north bay. gusts to near 40 miles an hour at times. once we get past sunset the wind will calm down and it won't be an issue. that covers the first issue. the second one is the rain. let's time that out. here comes the first chance for rain friday night. at 9:00 we start to see the leading edge of the showers arrived for the far north bay. advancing that through the overnight into very early saturday morning is when we see some of the best rain. that gets us to just before 4:00 saturday morning. noticed a pattern here. it's mainly focused on the north bay. not too terribly heavy. it will be enough that we notice rain. we could get maybe a quarter of an inch of rain out of that. that's friday night through saturday morning. and then a little bit of a bre

in the south bay, santa cruz mountains, less across the north bay. things are start to dry out once we pass lunchtime tomorrow. the rain projections at least of the storm still highest for the santa cruz mountains and areas south of san jose. so morgan hill, santa cruz, down towards salinas, probably getting more out of the system than areas north of san francisco. round two comes in for wednesday into thursday. that two weeks will be a relatively light rain event as futurecast shows. most locations showing less than a quarter inch. other chances, next weekend, couple things going for this set up. it's longer lasting and we'll have a chance of tapping at times into an atmospheric river. parts of the north bay, rain totals can start to add up between saturday and sunday. as you look at the seven-day forecast, again, not a big impact out of the storm unless you're in the santa cruz mountains. and that, too, those totals will come down quite a bit. i don't think we'll see burn or debris issues from burn scars for this particular storm. same for the mid
