let's get to cnn's kyung lah in georgia and start in georgia. president trump using today's critical senate elections in georgia as a threat on this call, what has the reaction been like there on the ground? >> reporter: actually trying to pay attention to reverend warnock as he's speaking and we just heard from the other democrat. so reverend warnock is one of the democratic challengers for the two runoff seats. jon ossoff is the other candidate for the senate seat. two democrats who want to flip these two seats. ultimately, which would tip the balance of control in the senate to democrats, and we just heard ossoff say this about what he thinks about the call, that call you just played, ana. he said "that is a direct attack on our democracy and if perdue and loeffler, who are the two incumbent republican senators, had one piece of steel in their spine, one shred of integrity, they would be out here defending georgia voters from that kind of assault. so very strong words from one of the democrats. we are anticipating that reverend warnock may al

going down to the wire in georgia. president trump and joe biden hold rallies ahead of a run—off vote to control the senate. well, earlier i spoke to andra gillespie who's political science professor at emory university in atlanta. i began by asking who she thought may win georgia's senate race. we don't know, the polls are statistically within the margin of error, it's too close to call, the outcome is likely going to be close one way or the other. georgia is complicated, particularly these two senate seats. it's a really complicated picture. georgia is in the midst of a partisan transition, so it went from being reliably democrat to reliably republican, now demographic changes are ushering in an era of new competitiveness, so it does not guarantee republicans or democrats clear, consistent victories, but it does portend very close election results and nailbiters, alternating democratic and republican victories, so we really do have to see what tomorrow's election results bring because it could go either way. it so

back to georgia. and in many cases -- >> how many people do that? they moved out and said oh, to hell with it. i'll move back in? it doesn't sound very normal. you mean they moved out and, what, they missed it so much they wanted to move back in. >> and this is they moved back in years ago. this is not like something just before the election. so, there's something about that data that it's just not accurate. >> well, i don't know, i mean, all i know is that it is -- it is certified. and they moved out of georgia, and they voted. it didn't say they moved back in, clay, did it? >> no, but i mean we're looking at the voter registry -- again, if you have additional records, we've been asking for that. but you haven't shared any of that with us. you just keep saying you've investigated -- >> but a lot of it you don't need to be shared to be honest. they should share it. they should share it because you want to get to an honest election. i won this election by hundred of thousands of votes. there's no way i

georgia has 159 counties. and the thing you need to know about georgia for the national audience is that, sure, there are republican leaning counties and democratic leaning counties. but even in our very deep red, for example, north georgia counties where president trump was tonight, we've got democrats in those counties. and so we'll be looking in both small, medium, and large counties no matter their overall partisanship. we're going to be looking at the vote numbers for democratic leaning groups in those rural counties as well as throughout south georgia where there's a lots of micropolitan, african-american towns and real diverse communities in south georgia and metro atlanta. this is not one county. this isn't like my home county in ohio. i'll be looking at southwest georgia down in albany and that whole region of the state. that's a really important area, savannah, where vp-elect harris was and obviously metro atlanta we'll be keeping a close eye on. >> we have slammed up against the clock. lauren, thank

as somebody from georgia, who has long covered georgia politics and long covered the black electorate, i mean, i wrote the day after the election that stacey abrams blew up the electoral map in georgia and she only doubled down on that in the weeks headed into this runoff and i think that what we are likely seeing is a result of, of the better part of the decade's worth of work paying off in the likely victors of both raphael warnock and jon ossoff last night. listen nbc 2014 she started the new georgia project, beginning to expand the state's electorate by talking to people across the state, not taking any voters for granted, and in rural georgia in particular, people who had been unseen and unheard in the state, didn't feel like their vote necessarily counted, and then, you know, after coming so close to becoming the first black woman governor in the history of the country, in 2018, but missing that largely due to so many people believed, voter suppression. not going home but saying i'm going to continue to work to empower voters in this state. making that her new focus in the past

the georgia d.a. locally or the georgia attorney general manages somehow to look the other way, there's also the manhattan prosecution and the letitia james prosecution in new york state. so no wonder this president is so desperate and delusionally desperate to hold on to power beyond january 20th. the moment he pulls down that presidential shield, it looks like an orange jumpsuit awaits him. it's really scary for him, i'm sure. >> okay. so let me ask you about this, though. when you hear that call. you know, there's been reporting all the way along, and i know people who have been in the oval office with the president, say well, he knew, he kind of got the game, he got that he lost. and then one of those people told me a few weeks ago that something has changed, that the president now no longer believes that he lost, that he truly believes some of this stuff. so when you hear him going on talking about a video that gabe sterling has repeatedly gone through frame by frame, you know, it's b.s., right?
