phil, i want to pick up on that. how do we know this action is spending in a tight range or we're building the next leg higher here? >> great couple things you can focus on. are the volume real, real activity? things being bout to gary's point are they strong balance sheet companies if they are, it's a sustained rally. finally are the institutional buyers coming in? you will know that when you see large big blocks of trading in the marketplace. spikes and volumes around companies having solid earnings reports. you're seeing some of this already. what is happening like we thought this year, balance sheet matters. cash flow matters. managing dividend increasing it matters. being in a dividend where client spends. that is where the focus has been. if you have focus on the sector, balance in the portfolio. large caps will pay a dividend. look at john deere yesterday. >> phil, you already said earlier show coming into the year that you were looking for pullbacks. in fact they're normal ahead of a major shift in fed policy
