mayorkas: two things. number one, senator you mentioned that apartment of state and the fbi already doing this work. so does the department of homeland security. that apartment of homeland security has been doing this work for years. addressing disinformation that poses a threat to the security of our homeland whether it is russia in the cyber domain, disinformation with respect to the resources that fema provides to the most vulnerable people in the wake of a national disaster, addressing smuggling organizations and their disinformation not to u.s. persons, but vulnerable migrants who receive disinformation and are goaded into coming to the border under false pretenses. this work has been underway for years and years. what this group has to do is ensure that this work is performed in a way consistent with the law. it does not infringe on freedom of speech, rights of privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties. it will establish what should have been established years ago, standards, definitions, guidelines

do you think there will be an actual impeachment effort on mayorkas if republicans take congress? >> well, certainly there has never been a cabinet secretary in my lifetime that i can recall that would be a better subject for impeachment than mayorkas. having said that, a lot of people will have to think back. the house is impeached several presidents, but then it goes to the senate and it takes two-thirds vote to convict. so it takes 67 votes to convict after the house and peaches. whether we are talking about joe biden or mayorkas, i don't believe the senate will ever convict, especially even if it is 52-48 majority. what we need to look at in the house is the makeup of dhs. and i think if you look back, it was created after secretary by the republicans and it has taken a bunch of government agencies important like ice, fema, border patrol. and made them even more bureaucratic appearance who i think we need to look at dhs and look at the position of cabinet secretary and say, do we really need this? has it to improve sense dhs created, or has it made important government agencie
