this is julie nixon eisenhower, giving a tour for sight impaired children. mrs. nixon realized that the visually impaired really couldn't have access to this so, in addition to recording an audio tour so that they could hear things she also set up special tours and if you can see in the picture some of the children have gloves on, they have gloves on because they are actually being allowed to touch the sculpture. and so, they went through, and they had special things set up so that these children could see what was going on with their hands and they could touch the sculptures, and they could touch some of the wallpaper, and they could actually take part in a tour in a way that they wouldn't be able to otherwise. the other thing that she realized fairly early is that there was -- there was no way for anyone who was in a wheelchair to be able to take part in these tours. so she installed the first wheelchair ramps in the east wing and the north portico to, again, make sure that the white house was accessible to everyone and that everyone was going to have access to

thompson, how are individuals like mr. james with long covid, struggle to remain in the workforce and what barriers do they face as a result of long-term symptoms? what might mr. james be experiencing? >> thank you, congresswoman presley. in july of 2021, the biden administration released a guidance package that announced long covid, under the ada, requires employers make reasonable accommodations for disabled people. however, there is not been a smooth transition for those with long covid, they will not make adjustments requested or they may not be in the position due to their illness. similar accommodations that can be worked is allowing people to work from home, which allows flexibly around schedule. an adjustment in work style and dress code, which makes it easier for covid long-haulers and be able to sit versus stand, having an office nap room, or a quiet area for rest, for meditation. we have even seen some help for information for employers with long covid and making the accommodations to make the process much smoot
