we heard from senator vilsack, excuse me. all kidding aside, he's doing a helluva job.plause] earlier, i not only thank you for leading this, but he cares a lot and feels passionately about this issue. the national strategy recognizes the critical role that diet plays in our health, and our health care system. we need to give families tools to keep them healthy. how many of you here are medical people involved in research? you know, almost every single discipline. from cancer, to heart disease down the line. we are finding out that it is effected by diet and exercise. and it is something you all knew, but it wasn't proved before. for example, heart disease, the leading cause of death in america. 19 states, in 19 states, more than 35 percent of adults are obese, in 19 states. 19. for seniors, and millions of folks on medicaid, our national strategy would expand nutrition so that they could have the guidance to stay healthy. so that they know what they should be eating. our national strategy also calls for doctors, nurses, dentists to trained -- to be trained to spot the
