this happened on saturday when surfer jens heller says a shark about ten feet long bit into his boardclosed the beach for the rest of the weekend, and he told us that it won't stop him from returning to the water. maybe as early as today. i'm ginger conejero saab in the north bay. the start of june also means the start of fire season for parts of the bay area. despite a very wet winter, santa rosa fire department decided last week it is time for fire season to officially begin, citing the wet winter weather was coupled with a dry spring. oakland began its fire season yesterday. firefighters there contain a small two acre fire over the weekend. meteorologist kari hall has been tracking that high heat, contributing to the fire season. yeah, we are now seeing those temperatures coming down to what's normal for this time of year. the first week in june, we'll see highs in the upper 60s in san francisco, low 80s in the tri-valley. and our warmer spots in the inland valleys will make it into the low 90s today, as well as throughout the week. back to you, chris. thanks, kari. our today in th
