i sat down with some iowa emergency managers. they have ideas on how we could do better from the federal government side and enable local responders to do better. you are right every situation we have here in iowa i don't know if we are unique or not but it think is just the resolve of our people. when incident occurs, folks are in immediately to support their neighbors but you are right you can take that buck and turn into so much more at the local level but we need a quick response from the federal government and that support. so finding ways to streamline again i'm sure i'll get booed talk about government efficiency. but part of doge okay didn't get at that time. so the department of government efficiency it is not about the east is not elimination it is about efficiency. so, how can we do better as a favorite federal government to respond to people on the ground? making it easier in the application process for local governments to go through the state agency. get those dollars that flow down much quicker to the local entitie

we need more healthcare providers in the state of iowa. so i am a big supporter of our community health centers. i think that's incredibly important to make sure we're delivering those services in the rural area. you are absolutely correct in that we do have a large number of those patients that are there because they are served by medicaid. we know that that is a very important program which is why we will continue those discussions. we know the house has their provisions for medicaid, and i actually agree with most of their provisions. everyone says that medicaid is being cut. people are going to see their benefits cut. that's not true.
