again, i'm not against some national guard presence. do you think the governor actually fighting back against the deployment is a mistake? i think it would've been better for him to maintain control of the national guard and not have president trump taking control of the california national guard. that's usually the governor's responsibility. i also think peaceful protest is something we want to protect. violent protests, i think that's what the lapd has to protect. they do that a hell of a lot now. we've heard the mayor of los angeles and the governor both saying los angeles police department and law enforcement had this under control. at the same time, we've seen those images of the limited violence, the scuffles with law enforcement. do you think that has changed the perception of these protests? yeah, i think that's what getting covered on television. certainly, at the outset of the protest, you did see law enforcement being assaulted. those are criminals, they should be arrested and be stopped. i'm not against the limited national

i've worked with the national guard. we've deployed the national guard. we did three plus thousand folks have been doing logistics work and fire recovery work, and they're fighting the fires. the rattlesnake teams, we did the same back in george floyd. we have no problem working collaboratively on a mutual aid system with local law enforcement. but there's a protocol. there's a process. >> and despite some of that criticism that you just heard from democratic leaders, trump's border czar is vowing to continue the immigration operations and is warning that anybody obstructing enforcement could face arrest. >> you've also mentioned mayor karen bass and governor gavin newsom, and there have been threats previously that if you stand in the way of your enforcement operations, you could be subject to arrest. are you saying that about mayor bass and governor newsom? are they at risk of being arrested? >> i'll say about anybody you cross that line. it's a felony to knowingly harboring an illegal alien. it's a felony to impede law enforcement from doing their job.
