nbc bay area's damien trujillo is in south san jose with the fallout. it appears that federal agents were not operating in the blossom hill area today, but for many, they left behind a trail of fear. ice won't say how many people they arrested over the two day operation in san jose, but these images scared many in the south bay, including shoppers at chavez supermarket on blossom hill road. on wednesday, federal agents used the store's back lot as a transfer site for those arrested. so even as a citizen, you're fearful. well, of course, because you can get entangled and you don't have a due process. this is the office that was summoning immigrants for a routine check in, some of them wearing ankle bracelets because they are appealing deportation orders. the people were arrested here and taken to the transfer sites in nearby strip malls. the office was closed today. many up to those appointments. ifhow there is a risk, they'll get arrested. of course, as an attorney, i could never advise someone to not show up to their hearing. immigration lawyer andrew n

jocelyn moran, nbc bay area news.k here at home, this just in t the oakland unified school district, has adopted a new budget for the upcoming school year. board members voted to approve a roughly $300 million spending plan. but the district says it still needs to address its $80 million deficit next year. that could lead to staff layoffs and cuts to after-school programs. which means if anything unforeseen happens next year, we don't have the money to pay for it. if any of our labor partners want to negotiate a new contract, we don't have any money to pay for this. tonight's budget passage comes following a heated debate and accusations by parents and various community groups. many had concerns about the district's transparency, or lack thereof, and financial management. some also accused the board of violating public trust. san francisco unified approved its budget yesterday, and that makes deep cuts, but dodges bankruptcy for next school year. the district says the $1.2 billion budget prioritizes teacher staffing,
