the increase of the bear population in the north bay and the possible business impact in the bay area. if we have mass deportations, those stories just ahead. but we start with that breaking news that we've been following for a couple hours now. a fire threatening homes in the east san jose foothills. there is good news. you can see here from our sky ranger. the flames are dying down. you see the burn scar there and the smoke actually clearing. this is firefighters are getting the upper hand. here's what it looked like though. just about an hour ago. big flames inching closer and closer to homes you see there. along with that smoke the fire sparked near ranch road and old piedmont road. this is up the hill from piedmont hills high school again, east san jose. it's burned about 100 acres so far. now, evacuation orders are still in effect for some are surrounding the fire. that includes people living along sierra road east of piedmont road, and this was alarming. take a look carefully here from our sky ranger firefighters rolling a wheelchair there it is a wheelchair down the road throu

didn't get out of the 60s today tomorrow's north bay temperatures. you're going to be climbing and you'll be in the mid 70s there. santa rosa and petaluma. it's not a heat spike, but it's certainly going to be noticeably warmer tomorrow. and primarily it's going to be notably sunnier earlier in the day. all right. how how do we do after that. let's get into that seven day forecast and see how this will play out from then on. and we don't change things a whole lot. seven day is going to lock in. so if you liked if you kind of like things the way they were today and tomorrow we're logging it in, you might get a little warmer inland over the weekend, but i don't think enough to notice. and when you look at temperatures for the bay. in fact, let me get those on her you'll see those temperatures are going to follow a similar trend where they don't budge. and i guess the one takeaway from this is if you're sitting at average and it's june, that's good news. and i spent a year here. it's also a part of the year that is highly vulnerable to intense spikes in

southwesterly wind getting blocked by the higher elevations of the peninsula, and temperatures in the north bay on the cooler side for other inland parts of the bay area compared to other parts of the bay area. because of that southwesterly wind making more inroads into the north bay valleys for tomorrow afternoon, and the wind is going to be a noticeable factor as we head through the next couple of days, the winds dying down overnight, but then picking back up, and still it's going to be the southwesterly wind as opposed to straight west. if it was a straight west wind, doesn't matter if it was north bay, east bay, or santa clara valley, everyone's temperatures would be just a little bit above average. but just that slight change does make a difference for north bay communities in terms of how much you do or don't warm up. and i don't think we're going to see much of a change to the big picture pattern as we head through the course of the entire seven day forecast. but beyond that, we do have a signal actually in the long range data towards slightly below average temperatures settling in in th

so that's where that heat is that north bay and east bay, everywhere else.nice, san jose about 81. so that's that's pretty nice day now across the rest of the west coast, the heat unfortunately causing some issues here. you can see in parts of central and southern california. we've got heat advisories, extreme heat warnings and then red flag warnings as we head into parts of nevada. and you can see, you know, heading over towards even utah and even for further points east there. so this heat is is a bit of a difficult position for of this west coast to be in it. so even though we don't have fire weather concerns as far as a red flag warnings, concern as high pressure stays in control. we've got to make sure we're being careful because we do have very dry conditions out there. now, this low is actually going to start to move in. once we get past today, it will start to kind of move a little farther to the south that will start to press the temperatures down a bit and that will really a bit and that will really change the profile of the looking at. so the thin

temperatures in the north bay are going to be some of the coolest that we have for all inland parts of bay area, so in petaluma, only up into the low to mid 70s. sun's out, tongues out weather for sadie, but she doesn't have to worry about overheating with those temperatures. only in the 70s where temperatures do climb into the 80s. you probably want to get your pups out for a walk a little bit earlier in the day, before those temperatures warm up to a greater extent. let's take a look at the fog. and while it's hanging out along the coast for now, it is going to spread back out across the bay and make a good push into the inland valleys of the north bay and into the santa clara valley. i don't think it's going to make much of an intrusion into the inland valleys of the east bay. so you're going to see full sunshine tomorrow. and once the sun comes up, that fog is quickly going to push back to the coast. should be hanging out along the coast by about lunchtime or so along the coast. i have a hard time shaking it, but i think at least a few peeks of sunshine here and there to help push

, these temperatures running about 6 or 7 degrees below normal for most north bay communities. because of that onshore breeze making its way into the north bay valleys all the way up to healdsburg, though 84 degrees for high temperature there, you'll be one of the warmer spots across the entire region. let's take a look at the hour by hour wind gusts in the wind is certainly going to be a factor. that onshore breeze helping to push the cool air far inland. some of the strongest gusts tomorrow going to be over 30 miles an hour, especially the delta breeze, and then closer to the coast, some 30 to 35 mile an hour gusts. the winds are going to be roughly the same on thursday, but maybe just a slight bit lower. some of the strongest gusts, maybe in the 25 to 30 mile an hour range instead. but still, all these factors combining to keep temperatures just a little bit below normal. we use livermore as an example for inland parts of the bay area average high. there is in the low 80s, but, you know, climb to that level until the beginning of next week. and then just a little bit of a wa

we are calm in the north bay as well as in oakland at this time. you're one of the warmer spots. how about san francisco at 50? into the north bay, upper 40s. still at this hour for some, including santa rosa. a comparison from yesterday into today. we'll show you just how much warmer we are going to be in many areas, especially inland, 5 to 10 degrees warmer. we've got concord going to 87 this afternoon. yesterday it was 80. same for santa rosa 87. your afternoon high. meanwhile, 67, in the city of san francisco is right about average san jose. you're going to be a bit warmer today, but still just a smidge below average as you are typically 80 degrees on this day in june. on the peninsula, 76 for redwood city, for the inner east bay. some of the hotter spots today 89 in antioch in the north bay. a beautiful warm 81 for napa. temperatures will continue to trend up upward. we're going to peak tomorrow in the 90s, before we cool it down in time for the first day of summer. a better look at those numbers in the extended forecast coming up. >> all right

check out the far north bay as we see clear lake and ukiah at 97. we'll be at 62 in half moon bay.e, you're saying the bay bridge is now clear? yeah, it's clear now. you and i look at different things when we look at live cameras. so you're lookingg athat's going on in the air? i'm looking at what's on the road. no longer on the road. westbound 80 at ninth. that earlier issue has cleared as far as vehicles go. they still have some paperwork to do. so the incident is still on. the chp report those speed sensors, and you saw some of those taillights backing up in toward treasure island. the backup ripples back into treasure island, but again, it will recover into the city as it is clear. but we have the build over getting in off of the bay bridge toll plaza area, so we may see those metering lights active. we do see up in the north bay highway 37, with a little more build out of vallejo, and highway four does show some slowing through concord, so that is a little bit earlier than we sometimes see on a monday. we'll track that. meanwhile, there are no surprises for the rest of the bay

so we're on a trend that is just so enjoyable from the north bay down to the sou bay. we're going to show you more about what's causing this great weather and where we go from here. so let's go ahead and start it off with a look here in napa, where we do have some sunshine out there right now. we had some 70s for highs right now dropping down to 70. but look at that wind. it's coming out of the west southwest at 20mph. that's helping to bring in that foggy breeze. so we are going to be dipping down too the 60s as soon as 6:00, and then some 50s by nine, ten and also 11. and of course, this is all, as i mentioned, coming from that foggy breeze. while it's clear from this view in downtown san francisco up against the coastline, we have that fog returning currently 59, and we'll continue with those 50s here as we roll through the next several hours, even with the possibility of some drizzle. so what we're dealing with right now is a pattern we're just kind of stuck in. but i think for a lot of us, we're glad to be stuck in this kind of weather because june still can be a

for tomorrow morning, then rebounding pretty nicely as early as noon back into the 70s in those north bay valleys, tri-valley and santa clara valley, but staying kind of cold around half moon bay of highs in the 50s 60 from san francisco to oakland. similar temperatures as we head into monday. again, the warmest days of the week will be on tuesday and wednesday. and notice now mostly 80s inland on tuesday. then on wednesday, you have a chance of some 90s around walnut creek and concord, maybe around morgan hill as well. 70 bayside before another cooldown as we wrap up the week. and you can see here cold air on that north side of the jet stream, warmer air to the south. and when the jet drops this far south in winter, this would be a stormy pattern for us when that jet stream is stronger. but for now, that's going to reinforce onshore winds and a little bit of cooling as we head towards friday and saturday right around the official start of summer. so tomorrow cloudy start sunny finish low 60s around the bay 70s inland and then you get that two day warm up tuesday and wednesday with some 8

most of us are in the 50s in the north bay. re struggling in the upper 40s right now, 50 degrees reported in santa rosa. we've got san francisco checking in at 52. the inner east bay 54 walnut creek. afternoon highs for today, anywhere from a few degrees below average to several degrees below average for many spots. santa rosa 82 expected for you. you are right on target, but take a look at san francisco, five degrees below the seasonal norm, coming in at 62 for the afternoon today, upper 70s in livermore. so you'll be five degrees below average, and san jose down by several degrees as well, with 70 to 71 for your afternoon along the coast. those clouds are going to eventually clear. we'll call for partly cloudy skies at our coastline, mostly clear for the rest of us into the afternoon. this system is going to push out and leave us with a ridge of high pressure. as we get into tuesday and wednesday, this will warm our temperatures. a better look at the numbers for today, what we can expect into the days ahead and the first weeke
