the san mateo county sheriff is a step closer to losing her badge. you see her attorney making one more defense before county supervisors unanimously accepted a recommendation to remove sheriffhristina corpus from office. today's vote follows months of hearings led by the county's chief probation officer, who made the recommendation after hearing corpus argument. the sheriff is misconduct and abusing her power. she now has five days to appeal the decision, and her attorney is promising to fight. sheriff corpus didn't get to where she was today without being a fighter, and she's not resigning, and she's going to fight this in court in front of a judge or in front of a neutral arbitrator, or we're going to have an opportunity to confront and cross-examine these witnesses. once she appeals, that's a whole new chapter of hearings led by mediator. among the accusations, corpus was accused of corruption, making homophobic comments and retaliating against whistleblowers. she denies all allegations and says the effort to oust her is politically motivated. a
