through the golden gate, and it's thick along our coastal communities, but it's down in the santa clara valley that we're not nearly looking at as much of that fog and as much of that cloud coverage. and that's actually keeping our temperatures a couple of degrees cooler early this morning. it's not cold by any means. we're still sitting in the mid to lower 50s across most of the bay area, but upper 40s down near los gatos and across our north bay communities. that is definitely a degree or two cooler than yesterday. and the reason is because the cloud coverage isn't nearly as thick. the less thick cloud coverage allows more heat overnight to escape, and that's the reason that our temperatures are just a bit cooler right now. by the afternoon, though, we are going to be warming right back up to a couple of degrees. within average. we might be a degree or two actually below seasonable for this time of year, still in the upper 70s to low 80s though from our santa clara valley communities to our inland east bay areas coastal communities, you'll be in the upper 50s once again as you are going to b

but even down into the santa clara valley, we are continuing to see a lot of that fog.nd again, keeping our temperatures mild this morning. by the afternoon hours, though, we are going to continue to see quite a lot of sunshine and that sunshine going to allow us to heat up a couple of degrees warmer than yesterday. we'll be seeing those highs sitting in the mid to upper 80s across our inland east bay communities, mid 80s down into the santa clara valley, and low 80s for areas around the bay. even our coastal communities in the mid 60s. it's really, really nice out there. so i hope you all can get out and enjoy yourself. the cloud coverage though, like i said, it's only going to get thicker and thicker into our morning hours before kind of peeling back late tonight. by tomorrow morning we are actually going to be seeing even more moisture streaming in, and moisture could potentially lead to a little bit of drizzle. yeah, you heard me right. there is the potential for maybe a little bit of some light mist waking up early tomorrow morning. a 15 to 20% chance, mainly along

again, a few degrees above average inland, especially in the santa clara valley, low to mid 80s. there the southwesterly wind gets blocked by the santa cruz mountains, so no delivery of any substantial amount of marine air to the santa clara valley. it's a different story for the north bay inland temperatures there only in the low to mid 70s, because that southwesterly wind more effectively finds some of the gaps in the terrain, including the golden gate, and makes its way into the inland valleys of the north bay. pretty much everybody else near normal temperatures, not just tomorrow, but for the next several days. even beyond the seven day forecast, we're going to be seeing a trend of almost exactly normal temperatures within five degrees on either side. so that means mostly low to mid 80s for inland parts of the bay area. through the rest of this week, over the weekend and into early next week, that little bit of morning fog giving way to abundant sunshine for the rest of the day. bayside temperatures hovering right around 70 degrees within again, 2 or 3 degrees on either side.

the only place that saw beautiful sunrise was on top of the santa clara valley, or on top of black mountain places overlooking the santa clara valley, and on top of those highest peaks in the bay area. it's kind of fun that you can actually see the tops of the mountain peaks peeking up above the fog and the clouds early this morning. let's you know, it's also a very low hanging marine layer that continues as we step out this morning. it's going to persist throughout the later morning hours. temperatures are pretty mild, though. they're sitting in the 50s all across the bay area, mid 50s for most of us, upper 50s down south and then low 50s across our north bay and closer to our coastal communities. either way, it's very similar to what we woke up to yesterday at this time, as we are going to continue to see the cloud coverage from this morning taking a little bit longer to peel back, i would say about 1011 is when most of us inland will begin to see some sunshine. our coastal communities are likely going to be seeing a bit more of that fog and that cloud coverage sticking around throughout

upper 70s to low 80s down into the santa clara valley.ack in the upper 50s, because the reason that we're seeing a heat up inland is due to offshore winds, allowing for drier and warmer weather to begin to make its way across the central valley of california, and including those inland places in the bay. so let's take a look at that, because it all has to do with wind direction, not necessarily wind speed. so yesterday wind speeds are definitely calmer, but today they're still coming in for more of that onshore direction and keeping those temperatures more seasonable. but tomorrow, even though some places will see some gustier conditions, the direction of the wind coming in from that offshore direction increases our temperatures, because there's going to be something called a backdoor slider storm system. basically, what it means is just moving across the central valley of california doesn't really impact us when it comes to moisture, but it changes the wind direction. and again, coming in from that offshore direction. not really great ne

but we'll notice it in our inland spots, too, including the santa clara valley stretched all the way up into wine country. so let's head over to the santa clara valley real fast, where it's a lot cooler for us this afternoon. we're talking about 60s today in san jose, 70 all the way off into the east bay near antioch. it was just two days ago. we were close to the triple digits over there. now we're sitting in the 70s, and that's also the case all the way up into santa rosa to santa rosa. two days ago, sitting at 92 degrees. today we're in the 70s so significantly cooler compared to where we're at for that midweek warm up. and here's where we're at as we head into the next seven days, we're going to hold on tight to 70 today, warm up a little bit more for the first couple days of summer as we head into this weekend's forecast, mid 80s, right around the corner for sunday and monday. we'll see some partly cloudy skies next week, but still dry conditions each day. not a drop of rain in sight. you make your way over into the bay that live. look behind me from san francisco over in oakland

inland communities right now we're sitting in the low 80s down in the santa clara valley. we're in the mid 70s in our coastal communities are still sitting in the upper 50s to low 60s by the afternoon hours, i should say between 3 and 4 will be our peak daytime heating hours. we'll be seeing those highs warming up into the upper 80s across our inland east bay communities and down into the santa clara valley. and even the coast will be sitting in the mid 60s. so overall, these temperatures are a couple of degrees above what we're feeling yesterday and a couple of degrees above average as well for this time of year, at least for our inland areas and down into our coastal communities. really, really nice conditions. we are going to be seeing a bit more cloud coverage arriving overnight tonight and into early tomorrow morning. and you see those little flashes of green. that's the potential for a little bit of mist or drizzle. it's only going to be a longer coastal communities, but it just lets you know that there is a lot more moisture and a lot more thick cloud coverage headi

it is going to be very normal for june upper 70s to low 80s down into the santa clara valley and across our inland east bay communities, while our coastal communities again going to be dealing with more of the onshore flow and going to be dealing with a bit more of that thicker cloud coverage that's going to stick around, at least especially closer to those coastal communities and especially along the golden gate. you'll notice again that layer of fog that will continue to stream in, and it's going to make things a little bit more difficult to warm up this afternoon. so all things to keep our eyes on as we step out today. not too many changes compared to yesterday, but hey, it's kind of what we expect this time of year. the onshore flow continues to keep those coastal communities in san francisco upper 50s, while downtown will mean the mid 60s. so if you want to head downtown, you'll enjoy some warmer weather or head across the bridges where you will be seeing more sunshine and definitely going to be seeing more comfortable conditions. even with a little bit of a breeze out there, the g

nearly 90 degrees in antioch and upper 70s to low 80s down into the santa clara valley. doesn't really matter where you are. it is going to be nice out there. but if you do plan on heading on over to the coast again, you might want to grab a jacket. the onshore flow is going to continue to keep those temperatures in the mid to lower 60s, but it's what we expect this time of year. it's very seasonable. it's very typical of june with that marine layer that continues to hold on tight closer to our coastal communities. a beautiful time lapse showing you that fog rolling in, rolling and rolling in. and then once the sun rose and warmed up the ground enough, a lot of that fog continued to dissipate. we're still looking at a good amount of it, holding tight to at least the western half of the city, but inland areas, plenty of sunshine, really gorgeous weather. like i said, temperatures right now sitting in the upper 60s to mid 70s by the afternoon within a degree or two of normal. and that's within a degree or two of what we've been feeling each and every day of the past week.

we'll start in the santa clara valley, where you're going to be some of the warmest spots, at least in terms of your departure from what's normal for early june, about 3 or 4 degrees above average, low to mid 80s on a widespread basis, also low to mid 80s east of the oakland hills. but that's almost exactly where you're supposed to be this time of year. temperatures around the bay quite a mix. 60 in san francisco and oakland, upper 70s for fremont and low 80s down the peninsula in redwood city, closer to the coast. only in the low 60s. not as big surprise there with temperatures in the north bay mostly in the low 70s until you go far inland, where that southwesterly wind doesn't have as much of an impact, should make it up into the low 80s around healdsburg. let's take a look at the seven day forecast. we'll start inland, where we're going to see temperatures running pretty close to normal. some of the coolest days, maybe falling just short of 80 degrees on thursday. the warmest day will be the first half of the weekend on saturday, but it's not going to be crazy hot and not even close

we head up into areas like the north bay or all the way down into the santa clara valley. we talked about it earlier. it's a mixed bag of 70s and 80s for us today. sunny skies, low relative humidity. the humidity is a lot higher along our coast where we're holding on tight to cooler temperatures, foggy conditions, and of course, just a little bit of drizzle in those early morning hours too. like what we saw this morning. now into the overnight hours tonight, the fog starts to really fill the bay once again. this is what we're waking up to tomorrow morning. drizzly conditions are expected along our shoreline that tapers off and pulls back along the shore once again into the afternoon tomorrow. so that's our tuesday forecast, looking very similar to today. and by tomorrow i mean we're going to see these winds kick up this evening up to around 22 mile per hour wind gusts. but that starts to die down in the early morning hours tomorrow just in time for tuesday, today, tomorrow. they look pretty similar when you're looking at the bay forecast, especially when it comes to our da

if it was a straight west wind, doesn't matter if it was north bay, east bay, or santa clara valley, everyone's temperatures would be just a little bit above average. but just that slight change does make a difference for north bay communities in terms of how much you do or don't warm up. and i don't think we're going to see much of a change to the big picture pattern as we head through the course of the entire seven day forecast. but beyond that, we do have a signal actually in the long range data towards slightly below average temperatures settling in in the 8 to 14 day outlook from the climate prediction center. so this is showing a decent signal towards those below normal temperatures for much of the california coastline. so maybe a little dip just beyond the scope of the seven day outlook. we've got a long way to go between now and then though. take a look at the seven day forecast for inland parts of the bay area. temperatures mostly running in the lower half of the 80s, some of the cooler days maybe falling just short of 80 degrees on a widespread basis. but these numbers are

the mid to upper 90s across our inland east bay communities, mid to upper 80s down into the santa clara valley're still in the upper 50s along the coast, so it kind of just depends on where you're located. but overnight tonight and into early tomorrow morning, it's going to be very seasonable. we're going to be in the m all maybe upper 40s across our north bay communities. but again, nothing out of the ordinary. by tomorrow afternoon though, this is when temperatures are going to come crashing down from the upper 90s right now to the upper 70s by peak daytime heating tomorrow, you'll be lucky to reach 80 degrees over near antioch and fairfield, down in the santa clara valley mid to lower 70s and then upper 50s along our coastal communities. the places that are going to be dealing with those gusty winds and those cooler conditions. the cloud coverage, though, not going to be too much of an issue. you might see a little bit of a down near south bay communities tomorrow, but again, it's going to be extremely dry inland. so clouds not really going to be what we're going to be keeping our eyes on o

out across the bay and make a good push into the inland valleys of the north bay and into the santa clara valleydon't think it's going to make much of an intrusion into the inland valleys of the east bay. so you're going to see full sunshine tomorrow. and once the sun comes up, that fog is quickly going to push back to the coast. should be hanging out along the coast by about lunchtime or so along the coast. i have a hard time shaking it, but i think at least a few peeks of sunshine here and there to help push temperatures up to where they're supposed to be this time of year. some of the warmest readings. the biggest departure from normal is going to be in the santa clara valley. the southwesterly wind gets blocked by the santa cruz mountains, so you manage to climb up into the low to mid 80s, which is about 3 to 5 degrees above average, low to mid 80s east of the oakland hills as well. but that's almost exactly normal for this time of year, 60s and 70s for san francisco and oakland. 70 in fremont but low 80s down the peninsula in redwood city, only low 60s along the coast against the influence

but upper 40s around santa rosa and napa for tomorrow morning, then rebounding pretty nicely as early as noon back into the 70s in those north bay valleys, tri-valley and santa clara valley, but staying kind of cold around half moon bay of highs in the 50s 60 from san francisco to oakland. similar temperatures as we head into monday. again, the warmest days of the week will be on tuesday and wednesday. and notice now mostly 80s inland on tuesday. then on wednesday, you have a chance of some 90s around walnut creek and concord, maybe around morgan hill as well. 70 bayside before another cooldown as we wrap up the week. and you can see here cold air on that north side of the jet stream, warmer air to the south. and when the jet drops this far south in winter, this would be a stormy pattern for us when that jet stream is stronger. but for now, that's going to reinforce onshore winds and a little bit of cooling as we head towards friday and saturday right around the official start of summer. so tomorrow cloudy start sunny finish low 60s around the bay 70s inland and then you get that two day warm up tuesday and wednesday with some 80s and 90s inland, and then breezy a

and even getting down into the santa clara valley just like today. it'll melt back in the afternoon. so you'll get sunshine. it'll look and feel pretty much just like today did. and since i mentioned that's likely how things are going to keep going for us over the remainder of the seven day forecast. let's get into the seven day forecast and i'll show you how that plays out. we'll start out with our inland microclimate. and there's that theme. the only thing that would show up here would be a few high clouds. if you were with me yesterday, we were looking at the forecast. we were talking about the possibility we might get an interesting cloud show as we get into monday and tuesday from this weak area of low pressure that had been spawning thunderstorms over central california and the sierra yesterday, doesn't look like we're really going to notice that at this point. so it's just going to be sunshine marine layer mornings and temperatures holding the line. the day you just had. you're about to do seven more of them. all right andrea over to you. >>al

mid to low 70s down into the santa clara valley and upper 50s returning to the coast as again, we are going to continue to see those winds whipping up as well as some bit of a coastal layer in that fog. but you might notice not nearly as much of that fog as you would be expecting with a storm system to our north. and that's because we're actually on the dry end of the system. and like i mentioned earlier, that fire danger and the dry air and those windy conditions are going to be a concern starting tomorrow. those winds are going to whip up. but you'll notice, like i pointed out in my first weather, that large low pressure system that's currently sitting up near canada that's really going to whip up our winds on friday afternoon, those gusts might get upwards of 35 to 45 miles an hour on friday. again, not only keeping those temperatures cooler, but it's going to be a day that you're probably going to want to secure any loose outdoor objects or they will blow away. but there is some good news for any weekend plans. luckily, the winds will be quieting down, calming down and we are goin

we're talking about the interior north bay mountains, the interior east bay valleys, and the santa clara valley. temperatures are up in the upper 90s right now, many locations. so under this kind of heat, there's the risk of heat related illness. this advisory also in effect in solano county until 11:00 tonight. now, right now, it is 100 degrees in brentwood. and just a few seconds before we went on the air, the temperature readings were at 9899, in numerous locations. we've still got 95 to 98 in many inland spots right now, so it's quite hot. but the fire indx indicates that the fire risk is going to diminish significantly tonight. you see the blues and the yellows indicating moderate to high risk. but as we get into the late night hours and the overnight hours, there's more green there. and going into tomorrow, very, very low fire risk. however, or i should say, however, in addition to that, we have a big cooldown starting tomorrow and i'll give you more details on that a little bit later with the accuweather seven day forecast. karina. >> yes, spencer. we'll be looking to that. forward to th

live weather camera looking out towards the santa clara valley.quality advisory in effect not as spare the air day. just a little haze from some smoke particles getting caught up in the wind flow from last night's summersville fire. in fact, we do have escalated fire danger today all the way through sunday. this is because our winds will be increasing up to 35mph. some gusts though, however, along the sea shore and elevated areas like the mount diablo area, mount tam, mount hamilton all the way up to 2500ft at times 50 mile per hour winds. the relative humidity, relative humidity 15 to 25% that is, dry temperatures into the 50. it's not the heat that's promoting that elevated fire danger, it's that the winds, they will continue to increase throughout the day. right now 25 in concord, windy. because of this, this area of low pressure, it's taken a huge nosedive into southerly fashion, drawing down that cooler dry air mass resulting in low relative humidity and those gusty winds. so with our temperatures coming down down from 96 degrees to 80 degree

we jump up to 64 degrees, nearly 70 across the santa clara valley. in santa rosa and to the east, a pair of sixes in pleasanton, livermore and dublin. but boy, it is gusty as far as the winds are concerned. a blustery evening in progress across the entire bay area, not just one section like around the central bay. oh no. it is gusty as far as the winds are blowing and reporting at this hour, 32mph in napa. humidity. you're going to see a lot of this because the humidity is low. and that's because of those whipping winds and the cooler air mass. so through the weekend we have elevated fire danger with winds continuing all the way through saturday night. those gusty winds up to 50mph. the higher elevations above 2000ft. humidity drops to 15% throughout the north bay, east bay, and portions of the santa clara valley. now we have a red flag warning in effect. that's for the central valley, but also solano county. so i'm talking about you and fairfield, also vallejo, benicia, martinez, american canyon area of low pressure. well, to the north of the bay ar
