current temperature readings in other locations now up north 66 in santa rosa.mid 70s at fairfield, concord and livermore. and at the golden gate. it's a mainly blue sky and breezy, with a few high clouds, feww clouds rather just beginning to push out over the bay. these are the forecast headlines into this evening. breezy and much cooler than the last couple of days early this week. look for mostly sunny skies with mild conditions, and by the end of the week, we'll see a little bit of a warming trend developing, but not anything like a heat wave. the forecast animation shows a few low clouds pushing up against the coastline overnight and locally out across the bay won't move very far inland. and then early tomorrow morning, the low clouds will burn off quickly, giving way to sunny skies and another mild and pleasant day. overnight, low temperatures will be mainly in the low 50s up at santa rosa, a little bit cooler with a low of 48 degrees, and up at lakeport a little bit warmer with a low of 60 degrees. highs tomorrow 60 one half moon bay 67. here in san franc

you can see now in between santa rosa kind of up 101 and on the coast. ere's some areas sunny, some dealing with the fog. there's plenty of fog all the way down to the monterey bay, santa cruz, to gilroy, hollister. what's what's on the bay right now will last probably another half hour or so, but just right on schedule there. we get that coming in. and boy, that tropical moisture just lit up parts of southern california, southern nevada and especially into arizona, which had a rare event of rain. some areas had a quarter inch to an inch of rain. that does not usually happen in early june. and temperatures they plunged about 2535 degrees on highs from saturday into sunday. we get the low cloud deck. looks like a pretty quiet week. back to stratus. cool. sunny away from the coast. some fog on the coast, although again it peels back. i think we know the drill. 60s 70s 80s on the temps i mean some areas inland could be 8485, but just, you know, probably outside my forecast zone. but it will be close. little change through the week. it does look warmer inland

mid 50s concord, santa rosa.vermore, so it's been windy all night long for santa rosa. novato has had some pretty good gusts as well as half moon bay. so that continues and out towards santa cruz. 25 mile an hour wind gusts throughout the afternoon. right now it's quiet. it's in the mid 50s, but the windy pattern continues today into tomorrow. and then the fire danger is elevated, particularly in the upper elevations of the north, the east bay hills and down around santa clara, the hills there. so the first weekend of summer it is bright. it will be a little bit warmer tomorrow as we get somewhat less wind, but as we get into next week, the winds will ease. we'll get back into a regular pattern with low clouds and fog for the morning and evenings, and then warmer temperatures arrive inland. red flag warning here out by the delta fairfield with winds up to 40 miles an hour. the gusts there and the relative humidity dropping anywhere from 15 to 25%. so as you head out towards the valley, there, high fire danger and

santa rosa will go up to 81.e upper 50s for the last three days. i'll go 62, although i'm a little nervous with that because there's a lot of low clouds there. concord from 75 cool degrees in june to 84 today. that's a little closer to average, and san jose will bump you up six. there's still a decent breeze. speaking of concord south to 22, travis is southwest 20. there's gusts to 3540, though, up near the altamont pass, right above the. right above the claremont. there 47 cool degrees. relative humidity there in the fog, 99%. and we're getting a southwest wind to 17mph. higher elevations mount veeder in the 60s, but the oakland hills, 47 and boulder creek is a brisk 45. so without the low cloud deck, we've really cooled off. this pattern is not changing much. i've been this way since march and april and may. usually that carries forward into june, and that's exactly what's happening. these weak little systems come in and that's all it takes. this time of year when you lose one or you get a little high pressure

santa rosa. you're not going to change. you already did the warm up, but concord you're going to change 94 tomorrow. 92 in livermore, 85 in san jose. it was 75 there today. and you'll go to 86 in redwood city, san francisco at 68. so technically you're staying in the 60s for the city, but you are going to be within striking distance of 70, and there's going to be a lot less marine layer. let's take a look at how the fog is going to behave tomorrow. when we visualize how that progresses. the marine layer sitting out there now, it's pretty much been melted back. you can even see it kind of getting scoured off the coast here from marin. but if we put it into the futurecast, it builds back in tonight only to a point. it's just really just going to get into the immediate part of the central bay for tomorrow morning and then melt back very quickly, watch it kind of disappear in a hurry. so you get plenty of sunshine tomorrow. you also get that warm up. friday and saturday are almost identical. both days are going to be like that.

to pearson street on one side, and from olive park to santa rosa avenue on the other side. the goal is to show off the greenway and show the potential that the greenway has always had. it's just never been given a real opportunity to to shine. you know, you just get everything down here. about 20 greenway volunteers work with the city and county to clear out trash. from bedding and clothes to cigarette butts. they pull weeds and overgrown vegetation and scrub the rails on the bridges. volunteer jack cabot says robert leads by example. all this time he's been down here 630 in the morning, and he's quite meticulous and gets doesn't miss anything. good morning. robert's become the greenways ambassador since he retired last year. he volunteers along the trail a few hours every day. he tries to stay ahead of the garbage left behind. it doesn't take long to fill a trash bag. and that little trip down there. five minutes. if that. we'd have to probably do a little clearing down there. robert and his volunteers are also drawing more visitors to the greenway. they've helped restore

we use santa rosa as our inland representative. you see the temperatures taking a big spike all of a sudden by tuesday and wednesday, that's not that far out of the ordinary for this time of year. temperatures running about maybe 6 or 7 degrees above normal and then right back down to near or even below average temperatures by the end of next week. so no major deviations from what's typical for the month of june, and no significant extreme heat in store for us. even the warmest days inland are going to stay around 90 degrees by wednesday and tuesday and wednesday, and then backing down already by next thursday. let's check out the bayside seven day forecast. and while the warm up will be noticeable by tuesday and wednesday, it's not going to be nearly as dramatic as what's going to happen farther inland. maybe a 6 or 7 degree jump up into the low to mid 70s for a couple of days and then backing down already by next thursday at the coast. what you're going to notice rather than a big increase in temperatures, is a decrease in cloud

ginger, what kind of conditions are we going to face in santa rosa this summer? well, that is still a bit of a question mark there, chris and marcus. but if we do take a look at t past couple of months here, santa rosa had a very wet winter, that it had a pretty dry spring. that wet winter certainly gave it a head start, but it was coupled with that dry spring, which means today is what led to santa rosa fire saying it's time to officially mark fire season. so despite that wet winter and upwards of 40in of rain in some parts of the county, santa rosa fire decided that it is time to officially mark the start of fire season, citing that combination of wet weather coupled with dry spring. we're hopeful that property owners will continue to do their part to keep their properties fire safe. whether it's weed abatement, defensible space, vegetation management and in compliance also with our vegetation management ordinance. all right. well, other parts of the bay area are also announcing fire season, including oakland, which officially did so yesterday. firefighters on

santa rosa fire department is making that official declaration today.his morning on what this means for residents. jesse good morning salvador. >> good morning to you. in santa rosa, fire officials hope by declaring that fire season is starting today will help residents prepare for what is, what comes at, what comes next. and that comes after a very wet and rainy winter season. >> while it can be a good thing to have a wet winter because it delays the start of fire season because that vegetation holds onto the moisture. unfortunately, this year we saw a lot of precipitation early and then had a drier spring. >> environmental engineer doctor laura sullivan green says existing vegetation is starting to dry out, which can lead to wildfires. we saw evidence of that sunday in the south bay. conditions sparked a 20 acre grass fire near san jose international airport. gusty winds pushed the flames, which threatened a nearby rv encampment and prompted some evacuations. santa rosa officials here in the north bay say now is the time for residents to think about w

we're already at 82, though, in santa rosa, 83 in livermore. so you can see where some of the 60's and 70's our but the places where the 80's are already this time of day, you know, that's where we're going to see some of that more extreme heat today. so these are the highs and looking out for santa rosa about 93 76 in oakland. but this is where the real heat is concentrated that inner east bay. you can see there from antioch down to concord and livermore. morgan hill looking out for about 93, but some nice 70's and low 80's around the bay itself. so pretty nice day for most. having said that, the west coast is heating up. you can see it here where extreme heat warnings are parts of central and southern california heat advisories and there's fire danger as you can see all the way over to utah in nevada and down into arizona. so that is part and parcel. what happens when we start to get this heat all brought by high pressure. now the good news is it's just for one day because low pressure is actually going to start to move in. once we get into t
