this morning, a couple of hours before that, we know that state senator john hoffman and his wife yvette were shot and they're in surgery. they're a manhunt for a man suspected to be armed and dangerous in brooklyn park. both of the democratic lawmakers were five or six miles apart. in terms of the timeline how this happened, the police say this suspect impersonated a police officer, wore a badge, a uniform, had a police vehicle and knocked on the home of melissa hortman at around 3:35 this morning asking them to come out, or identifying themself as a police officer. at that point this suspect opened fire and exchanged fire with police at the home. the police saw melissa hortman's husband on the ground. the suspect retreated into the home and they sent a drone inside the home and discovered melissa hortman's body on the ground. the suspect managed to get away from that house and now we have a massive manhunt for a man or a suspect wearing a police uniform. he is on foot. the police vehicle, they have the police vehicle. on the question of why they know this is politically motivated, a ma

yvette cooper did that job when darren jones was in his final year as an undergraduate. that makes us all feel old although perhaps not then who is a young economics guru. tell us what the economic picture is like. we can see a chart which really paints the picture facing unprotected departments, you can see the budgets for those on depicted departments go back to 2010. this is adjusted for inflation and for population. you can see that big drop off after 2010 and the level of their budgets and austerity years but look at the dobbins line. that shows you what the budget envelope said last year implies what is available for them into spending review and you can see it is actually falling. if that comes to pass and we think it will, it will imply a more spending cuts for those unprotected departments to be announced next week. let's drill down to some of those individual departments and look at what their budgets are relative to the back in 2010. again, you can obviously see health which is protected up 30%, the blue bar at the top, but look at the unprotected departments
