paul vercammen, explain again who is aeg? >> aeg is the company that owns staples center and a lot of other interests. they are basically in the business of promotion and they are the people who had taken over michael jackson's career in a sense, not only putting on the 50 concerts in london and putted him up in the rented mansion in holmby hills, and also making sure that he had medical attention 24 hours a day. they said they would assign a doctor to him, the doctor of his choice, nancy. >> i mean, let's unleash the lawyers. everybody, we're taking your calls live. gloria allred. you all know gloria allred, family law attorney, victims rights advocate out of l.a. alexis martin neely, state attorney out of l.a. mickey sherman, renowned attorney out of new york. and daniel horowitz, famed attorney out of the san francisco jurisdiction. gloria allred, they're trying to prove so hard how healthy he was, but yet they were assuring he had a doctor round the clock. something doesn't ring true to me. and how do i know he's healthy?

. ♪ they don't really care about us ♪ >> straight out to paul vercammen, cnn producer. on the scene. he was there at staples center arena. paul, what can you tell me about losing a 24-karat bedecked promethean casket? how with 20 helicopters hovering over the staples center arena can we not know where jackson's body is? >> well, obviously, nancy, these are masters at the art of deception and they have been throughout this case. there's been reported infighting within the jackson camp and there have been many ideas as to where his final resting place should be. in los angeles, there's so many places you could possibly have taken this body, that that is one of the reasons why no one knows where it's going so go right now. and of course still in the mix is they could cremate this body and bring it to neverland. there's a lot of options out there still. >> i don't understand that. how did it get out of an arena and nobody knows where it was? did you see that crowd? you were there. there were thousands of people on the inside, thousands of people on the outside. there it is.

paul vercammen joins us, he's outside the staples center right now. paul, what's the mood there right now? >> it's absolutely kind of euphoric. a lot of people are glad to be there, glad to be a part of history. they've come from all over the united states. if i'm not mistaken, you come from gary, indiana. >> citizen of gary, indiana. neighborhood of 2,300 on jackson street. >> wow. >> i was part of the first concert to see the jacksons, we paid 10 cents to see them. he gave his james brown movement. >> you got to see the michael jackson memorial service for free. let's talk to other folks here. brooklyn, new york. what was it like for you? what do you remember most about this? >> it was so emotional just to be a part of this, to have closure to one of the greatest icons ever with music. representing brooklyn and new york and lynchburg, south carolina, i just thank god for him. >> you came from se aflt. what do you remember most? >> i just remember that he was, you know, we always had posters on our walls of him. he's awesome. his music was great. he'

out to paul vercammen, our producer in l.a. paul, what can you tell us? >> i can tell you this on background. la toya jackson sat down for four hours with this reporter last thursday and began discussing what she thought was, quote, the murder of michael jackson. she was pressed hard. that's a very strong term, obviously, nancy, as you know it. she said, yes, i want to say i believe my brother was, quote, murdered. she went on to say there was a shadowy entourage she believes was involved in all of this. she also said her brother was worth more than $1 billion. talking about that entourage, other people said all along there were a group of security guards and other people who watched michael jackson, and i guess what la toya is implying is not only did they turn a blind eye to drug abuse going on, but might be enabling michael jackson. >> murder charges being leveled? explain. >> i don't understand what the motive would be to murder michael jackson. if this is a short term thing, the million dollars la toya is referring to is not how much michael was wort

>> straight out to paul vercammen, senior cnn producer standing by in l.a. at staples center. paul, thank you for being with us. paul, what's the latest and could you tell me, are they selling t-shirts at the memorial? >> well, first off, i don't know who "they" is, we have to pin that down, nancy. as you probably know, there's been all sorts of people profiting via the street vendors hitting the pavement here in los angeles with t-shirts probably i would say not even three hours after michael jackson was dead. we can't confirm if aeg or someone involved with the event is selling t-shirts. i imagine there might be a commemorative t-shirt. in the meantime, behind me. fans are signing the wall. i understand that people have been in line for as long as an hour and a half to sign a makeshift memorial to michael jackson. they have come from all over the world -- peru, paris, mexico, japan, just some of the countries' named on that wall. ironically, the people behind me aren't necessarily going to the service tomorrow. most of them will be kicked out as downtown l.a. becomes a walle

to paul vercammen, what happened? >> reporter: basically what happened is the los angeles police department and aeg and everyone involved with this memorial service is celebrating tonight. the reason being is it's considered a tasteful service, it was not over the top in any way. there was no open casket. there was nothing ostentatious about it. no real glitzy, over the top numbers. they were even judicious about who they did and did not let sing, nancy. inside today was this very reverential moment. outside, talking to the fans, everyone was well behaved. people were extremely polite. they were all touched by a number of things, including paris' words. the police report no arrests. only 1,000 people gathered on the outskirts of this sort of walled-off city and tried to get in. so it's a thumb's up all the way around for the police, the fire department and others who helped put on this event. in very short time, by the way, and pull it off without a hitch, nancy. >> this as we learned michael jackson's body still bein

paul vercammen is outside the staples center. silence has fallen inside the staple centers. do you have a lot of people remaining outside, paul? >> no, i think that's the smoking gun indicating that we're ready to go here. what's happened. remember earlier when you were talking to me, there was the large crowd gathered behind me. they've all filed in. the police have made a last sweep. we've seen police on motorcycles, on horseback. we've seen police with dogs. they've all kind of gone through. it looks like we're just on the brink of being able to start here. i can look down on a monitor and see what's going on inside as well. and so it has that sense of we're ready to get going here. and just a short order. what filed in was a multicultural crowd. it was interesting to note that people of all color, all genders, obviously, and ages. i reflected on a friend who was a deejay in the 'aicts. you take a risk when you play certain songs for an all rock crowd. michael jackson was the one guy you could play that would unify everybody. >> that is a great memory. yeah, just so many
