jade hernandez joins us live from oakland with the latest on this story. hi, jade. >> reporter: good morning, claudine. riders have experienced delays for days now. we told you that a judge had been expected to make a decision in this case on friday but on friday a new judge was appointed because the other judge had to go on vacation, so this case has been dragged out a little longer. the new judge said a decision could come as early as today but it could be made later. now, if a judge decides in the union's favor bus drivers would go back to their regular work schedule. for those of you not familiar with why ac transit bus riders have been upset lately, well this is a contract dispute between ac transit and its union. the union's contract ended june 30th and after three months of negotiating talks ended as soon as the union forced arbitration, ac transit decided to impose a contract the da after arbitration was made which changed schedules for some of the 1100 drivers within this system. arbitration is expected to begin later this month but the union has

ktvu's jade hernandez joins us with more on this from san jose. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon. will the 49 san jose firefighters who were laid off get their jobs back? the city says yes, but there is a catch. >>> the voting continued today inside of this hall where union members urged leadership to accept a 9% cut in wages and benefits, if they do the city says they will rehire 49 firefighters laid off in july. >> mayor reed and others of his colleagues on the council are putting politics ahead of public safety. >> reporter: earlier today mayor chuck reid stood firm. san jose police took a 4% pay cut as did other unions, he said firefighters should not be exempt. on top of that the union has no business accusing the city of not implements a gps tracking program sooner. he says the system to better deploy fire companies would not have changed response times yesterday. >> the way they deployed like they were yesterday is like a year ago. if you have multiple events you always have to move people and resources around to account for that
