my name is mary beth, and i'm speaking on behalf of s.p.u.r. s.p.u.r. has reviewed the project. i am a co-chair. with each generation they have responded to our comments. because we reviewed it a couple times and our project review committee considered it a favorable project, we referred it to the organization as a whole. the endorsement committee is made up of committee chairs of several of our different committees within s.p.u.r., and we have reviewed the projects according to their land use, their public relevant many interface, building design, and environmental affect. in all cases, we were seeking a combination of design that will ensure positive contribution of each project to a safe, visually appealing, and vibrant urban setting for the people that live and work in san francisco. as we reviewed the project, we were very happy to see the project sponsor's commitment to residential community and their policy toward rent control and affordable units. we agreed with the plans and he we are impressed with the eelaborate plans for an environmently sustainable community. we are

mary beth on our democrat's line. caller: good morning. thank you c-span and thank you to the reporter that you've got on. it's unfortunate in some way that is the weatherization projects are tied to low income people. it seems like it would be much more effective for it to be a general across the board program. and the reason i'm calling this morning is because my husband is a construction contractor and we went all over the south the last ten years working on roads projects in georgia and a lot of the southern states, and what i noticed during that ten-year program is that the states were talking about their rainy day funds. that's what they called them. and it seems like wherever we were, a lot of that money was tapped into in the last ten years. so some of the projects that the federal government has released money for under the federal stimulus program, these were projects because no one in the states could make up their mind on their taxes. and because the states followed with a lot of the estate tax reductions, the states also follo
