this monday, the board president voted to recommend this to the full board of supervisors. on tuesday, they finally passed the reading that would amend the castro controls to allow most russia wants to be permitted with a conditional use authorization. the board also gave the city authorization to apply for a grant focusing on the gaming and storm water features for the cesar chavez redesign project. this is a grant we are pursuing. we have been extremely successful in augmenting our services. the department has applied for and received funding for more than four million dollars worth of grants. the full board herridge that the development a key stimulation -- the development legislation. we are going to study the infrastructure districts. the other resolution would apply to the committee facility districts and at this july hearing, you recommended approval. to date, only the maximum resolution as been heard at the full board. we ask for the committee and the long-term effects from the general fund. the committee should analyze the potential fiscal impact to the general fun

in july, in conjunction with the mayor's office and the board of supervisors this board voted to restore service reductions that took place on may 8, due possible through a one-time funding plan from the metropolitan transportation commission, m.t.c., as well as the san francisco county transportation authority. so we were able to make that commitment of 50% service restoration on september 4. however, we went a little bit further and looked at our schedules and looked at opportunities to implement some efficiencies regarding our scheduling, reducing some of the standby time and some of the scheduled runs for our operators. and enhancing some of the driving time for those scheduled runs also so we looked at opportunities to really look at our schedules, using the information and optimizing those runs. with that being said, we were able to exceed the 50% and actually reach 61% this september 4 in terms of service restoration. part of this process was a signup that was conducted in august for all of our divisions and the operators. we had 1,907 transit operators participate in that signup.

my concerns about the board, are there representatives on the board. there's a substantial amount of population of youth that uses the services of muni for going to recreation but mainly to get to and from school safely. they have a voice. i don't mean a token youth. something that's equal to the population that they have in san francisco. so i would really advocate for that, supervisors, and for the chair to look into that and look into the community and young people to be on that. and also will the board support community youth training and employment through its systems throughout the city? will they also support community events with their manpower and also they are just coming out with their clout and helping us raise money. and also i think that i have known muni all my life, too. i took it to school. so the youth is needed and should be on that board. thank you. supervisor campos: thank you very much. is there any other member of the public who would like to speak? why don't we hear from commissioner oka. thank you for being here, commissioner.
