particularly the southeast where portions of maryland, the chesapeake bay, the eastern shore, southern maryland continue to see heavy rain. luz by, i've mentioned lusby several times this morning, they continue to get hit with heavy rain. they've seen strong thunderstorms and they are still seeing thunderstorms right around the lusby area. heavy rain over southern st. mary's county. we've had at least a couple of inches rain in that area. winds could be gusting in that region. we're now told 40-50 miles per hour with some of the thunderstorm activity moving through southern maryland and eastern portions of maryland. so you want to be aware of that. meanwhile south of the district, here is what is coming. heavier rainfall, another little embedded thunderstorm showing up there. you see the arrow pointing north. all of the storms moving to the north so we continue to track the storms. some of the storms could be dangerous with strong gusty winds and very heavy downpours. let's go to the graphics and talk about some of the advisories that are in effect. tornado watch is in effect for much

heavy rain pushes across the chesapeake to the del marva thursday evening. lingers in the del marva by daybreak, should be pushing out of the delaware beaches up towards new england. we have ourselves a flood watch for most of maryland through thursday evening, may get extended depending on the extent of the rainfall. we have to focus on the push from the south of our high tides. just before the noon hour on thursday and after midnight on friday morning, 12:44. these are the general times we'll see the high water and maybe coastal flooding with the surge from the south. this isn't an isabel thing, but this is a possibility with a strong southerly push and rain for tidal flooding. temperatures today, low 70s. clouds thicken up as they return with rain. rain begins to move across the entire area by daybreak, could be heavy. down to 65. extended outlook calls for flooding tomorrow. anywhere from two to four inches or more. 75 degrees. it ends by friday morning and highs stuck in the 60s, but lows in the 40s of over the weekend. here's kim with a look at traffic

all morning long to the east of the district along the chesapeake bay. they're pushing from south to north and bringing heavy rain and rain totals surfacing 3 inches and because of that we have a lot of problems with flash flooding. i'll show you that map in a second. we have a warning for maryland, including places like churchville, hickory and aberdeen under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:30 this morning. wind gust as associated with the thunderstorm in excess of 60 miles per hour. so that's the other story here. we're starting to get some gusty winds along and east of the bay. let's show you max 2 and show you the radar and we have more rain off to the south and east as this whole system continues to wind up and a lot of tropical moisture being tapped into the south. so several more hours with extremely heavy rain and then things quiet down in the mid afternoon. let's push off. flash flood warnings, all of the counties in red, including the district of columbia, downtown baltimore and annapolis under a flash flood warning. i told you rain total

a quiet day out on the chesapeake bay tomorrow afternoon. a little chilly tomorrow morning and again on sunday morning heading toward the mountains. around the chesapeake bay, sunny skies and high temperatures near 80. the same scenario on the lower eastern shore. if you are going to any of the beaches, watch out for the rip currents, because of hurricane ego witches -- hurricane karl igor, which is expected to get close to bermuda going into the weekend. sunday afternoon into sunday evening, it may still be a category 2 hurricane, but will we get on this track to that north. hurricane karl is expected to deliver heavy rain to parts of the interior of mexico. around here, high pressure means sunshine for saturday, partly cloudy sunday, temperatures in the upper 70's on monday and tuesday, and another chance for rain next thursday and friday. >> interesting trend in the ravens and dingell series. 2007, the bingles what the ravens, 2008, the ravens returned the favor. here we are in 2010. the ravens injured list proves a little troubling. for

immediate coast of the chesapeake. let's look at our harbor cam. you can see, actually right now the rain let up but still an overcast sky there. temperature-wise, 75. humidity high, nearly 80%. relative humidity, it's a muggy night. winds southeast at 8 miles per hour. look at some of these rainfall totals so far. numbers a little jammed but i wanted to get as many as i could on here. almost an inch in edgemere. higher totals, inch and a half plus toward glenwood and rockville. more than two inches in northern carroll county. there toward manchester. there were some very heavy showers out there earlier today. impressive rainfall totals, eastern shore a little less. high temperatures today, running into the upper 70s, annapolis 77. harbor 78. and frederick 75. winds gusty, too, with the rain we've had. it's a muggy wind blowing out of the south right now. again, this lull in the action not expected to last too much longer because, as we look further south, you can kind of see the scenario going on here. a lot of heavy
