we need more open space in north beach. because it is a dense neighborhood in the city with the least amount of open space per capitalia. in addition the draft e.i.r., one of my concerns was about traffic and there were no significant impacts on traffic when they close the street. i was there. i saw it didn't change anything. and it didn't impact public transportation or emergency vehicles. my neighbors and i were actively engaged in the community input process leading to the plan to build a new library on the parking lot and we gathered as a community, provided our input, voiced our support of the new design when it was unveiled and we thought we would soon have a new library and more park space. we had been shocked by the amount of time that this process has entertain to make this community vision of a reality. we are busy parents on the frontier of urban living, trying to make some community space for our children and speaking up actively and vocally at every opportunity afforded us. the draft e.i.r. is complete and accu

i'm a 23-year resident of north beach. and a teacher at a pre-k through eighth grade school in north beach. the opportunity for a new library has really been a reallyying cause at our school -- rallying cause as our schoolso, please picture next to me at least 200 parents and 200 children in their pajamas, standing next to me. i've been involved in this project since my son was 6 years old. he's now 13. i have felt very involved and very informed about this project. i've been to meetings, presentations, brainstorms at the library, at the clubhouse, on the playground and even at my school. i've watched the street closing, i've studied the plans and i also can honestly say i read the e.i.r. online. so i feel that this e.i.r. well documents our neighborhood's urgent needer to more park sfathe space and a new library. the e.i.r. also documents that this elegant and efficient solution was developed with enthusiastic seven-year-long community involvement. please support the e.i.r. and make our involvement worth while and meaning

this business serves as a gateway to ocean beach. they have two locations, and the ever present the perfect bookends for the sunset district, java beach cafe. it has been in love and life work of patrick and buffy mcgwire, known to everyone in the neighborhood as pat and buffy. java beach does not just serve food. they are great in the community. every time we have had a neighborhood cleanup event, the have been the first to donate their time, their resources, bagels, muffins -- whatever is needed to help at the committee. they are set apart from other places in the district. for many people in the district, java beach service at a second home -- serves as a second home. they will meet up to reconnect. it is a second home for many in the sunset district. pat and buffy our family folks. they have three great boys and their place represents that. they do invite the atmosphere of a family-oriented business. if you go on any holiday, you will see they have this great christmas party every year, kids running around, karaoke for everyone.
