that's the message from cal trans this morning. let's go to linda at the san mateo bridge where emergency repair work has one westbound lane closed and that could create some big, big problems for that westbound commute this morning. linda, good morning. >> reporter: that's for sure. good morning. traffic you see behind me is moving frit quickly right now. but it is still early. during a routine inspection of the bridge they do these twice a year engineers yesterday found a 10-inch crack in a steel beam located right under the far right lane in the western direction. that crack was located in the flat section of the bridge right before the incline. cal trans says it could take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to fix that crack. what they're going to do is place a steel plait on either side of that crack. >> it's a wish bone shaped steel beam. so they had to design two steel plait that is they're going to bolt to the top and the bottom of the cracked section. so they had to design them to make sure they fit perfectly. >> reporter: so ca
