aaval a oh silva embraced his young son and wife. he wore sunglasses to provide protection from the bright lights. he hugged the rescue workers and paramedics whisked him away for medical treatment. chilly's president says the epic rescue makes his country proud. after being trapped for 68 days the men are being lifted one at a time in a specially made rescue cage from their underground prison, each journey from 2,000 feet below will take about 20 minutes, it could take more than 36 hours before everyone is out. shift leader luis urzza is expected to be the last man out. keeping their blood pressure stable on the journey is a big concern. the miners have been taking salt tablets and drinking fluids full of protein and electrolytes, they'll also wear pressure stockings as they are pulled out. they'll go immediately to a triage station and then, if they are up to it, see family. they'll then be flown to a hospital for a complete examination. some miners are suffering skin and respiratory brooks. everyone is keeping their fingers crosse

florencio antonio avalos silva the first to be rescued. let's check in with news 4 elaine reyes, who is monitoring the developments and joins us live in the newsroom with the latest updates. good morning, elaine. >> reporter: good morning, aaron. it's been pretty steady. maintenance crews replaced the wheels on the rescue capsule which we're told is routine. about ten minutes ago, the seventh miner reached the surface. you're taking a live lok at the rescue site. a team of engineers is working there. they september the capsule back down underground to pick up the eighth miner. a little bit about that seventh miner. he i46-year-old jose ojeda, 20 years experience in meaning, a widower with a stepdaughter. each capsule ride takes 15 nutes from bottom to top. it's spinning at an angle on the way up. now, as we told you, one wii one the miners have emerged looking happy and relieved. the 33 men spent 70 days trapped inside a golden cop ermine in modern chile. they emerged wearing sun glasses that will help their eyes acclimate. one handed out

now, the first person to be rescued was florencio antonio avalos silva. he was deemed to be the fittest. he became a cameraman during the whole session the last two months and he was able to help his fellow miners and he was deemed to be the healthiest. we watched those scenes coming up just over two hours or so. his brother, we should say, is trapped in there as well. the second person who was rescued was, if we just move this along here, and we can see. at the age of 40, from santiago, chile, someone who became pretty much an unofficial spokesman. his wife is an accountant. while waiting at camp hope, she continued to fill out tax forms. the third person we saw just at the top of the hour was juan illanes palma. and he is 52 years of age. and he is electrical mechanic. and he also served as a corporal for chile fighting in the conflict for argentina. he is known as a bit of a singer. he is known to be good at letters and apparently his letters to his wife were full of humor and on that mix. >> do we know who four is? >> there is a pecking order that has
