i had a quick last question for the mtc. are there resources that will be provided to the mta to help us implement this? these talk about the support you are providing on that level. >> it does give me an opportunity to follow up on leadership and those things. muni is the leader on this but the mtc is fully behind it. our commission has had its troubles. this has been a tumultuous task. but the commission is so behind this and we want to make sure that our resources make this a success. certainly as far as that transition, we had a great meeting last week. strategy's were in place to supplement what they saw as gaps in support. things that were just ideas on monday, friday be finely worked out contract approaches. we are continuing to work with them to read out by the particulars of the question. do we have sufficient support for limited english proficiency? we will be looking at those strategies to make sure that they're used in the most appropriate way. subsequent impasses in the fall and spring, those are still in the wo

what i want to talk about is some of the specific things that mtc has done to support it. mta will be talking about the planned activities in place but based on our lessons learned we have dedicated a special efforts to ensure a transition is moved. the first is we have increased staffing of the customer service center. we have added five additional staff this month. they have been trained. secondly, an important aspect is a refresher training for frontline personnel. they are our best chance at helping a customer when they are on the site trying to choose a card for the first time. we have given a change order and are providing additional support. as well, we have just authorized last week additional outreach teams to serve as ambassador. implementing the decision for the frontline personnel are key teams at bus stations, other locations try to coach people, trying to teach them what is going on. you mentioned for this month only we have the existing fast pass members, that we are providing them with a pre loaded card so that people will not be left in the woods. what the

mtc knew that as far as a regional program, we needed one consistent way. our request was to find a common approach that looks for all the rules to be implemented. we were somewhat agnostic to what the process looked like but it seems to be consistent throughout the region. we are going through some challenges now with the senior car distribution. seniors need to learn about how to work with the clipper card, how to get one, and that is something great that the staff has done. we are reaching out to various senior centers across san francisco, but the work is not dead yet. there is still time to get this card into the hands of seniors who want that discount. once a senior gets the card, they do not need to worry about their discount. they can ride on anybody's vehicle. yes, we it knowledge it may be difficult now. we think we have the right strategies but it will take time to work through the senior center. once we are done i think you will see a happy constituency. it is just getting through tough times. the youth program is similar. supervisor chu: we did

ab 744 found on page two, dealt with mtc's hotline program. they pretty much abandoned that bill midway through this year, and that did it fail passage. they will be pursuing that funny, scaled-back -- they will be pursuing that funding. ab 987 passed through, and that deals with transit village and expands the radius of the area of improvement within the transit village from a quarter mile of the parcel to half a mile. a little more flexibility for transit village development. your other local members has been very active, mr. amiano, pushing the bill that would kill -- pushing the bill that would deal with right turns, pushing the mechanism there. that did pass handily. we do not expect problems because i think he worked out his issues with the state and highway patrol. the other bill we watched, ever since it has been introduced, ultimately did failed passage -- fail passage, but having said that, we have all suspected that some flexibility will ultimately play itself out in the budget, although sb 10, as a vehicle, is no longer available.
