there are some heavy showers now moving through concord. we did have some earlier moving up along 80 and then through vallejo on into the central valley. they're just going to be scattered downpours this morning but you can see the lights of the bay bridge. we still have pretty decent visibility. also encountered some fairly dense fog here and there. as skies clear, a lot of standing water and of course light winds right now. this is doppler radar indicating what goes on in the sierra. you saw all the heavy snow from last night. now we're starting to see some showers pop up in the foot hills and all that with the cooler air filtering in is going to result to more snow this year. chains are required on both interstate 80 and u.s. 50. locally as you mentioned we saw showers on 80 now moving out to the concord area with some pretty good downpours along 580 and 680. the showers will continue throughout the morning hours. some cold air following that storm system yesterday. 39 in novato as we see a little clearing in the north bay. 43 santa rosa
