tonight friends and family have gathered at the home of elizabeth edwards. doctors say her long battle with cancer may be coming to an end. edwards first battled breast cancer back in 2004 but the cancer came back in 2007. doctors recently found out that the cancer has now attacked her liver. doctors are advising against any other treatment, opting instead to make her comfortable. today edwards posted a message on facebook saying, quote, i have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces, my family, my friends and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. elizabeth edwards three children and her husband, john edwards, whom she has been separated from are tonight said to be at her bedside. >>> three people kept a tracy teenager as their private prisoner for years are themselves going to be prisoners for years. the judge gave the two women and one man long sentences, but one question remains. why did they do it? rich reports from stockton. >> reporter: the three walked into court this morning for sentencing. the three suspects admitted to burni

so, edward 2001 it became clear that they had to file for bankruptcy. and like many others, in that case, and certainly most of the people in bankruptcy, the porteouses were shown to be horrible recordkeepers, and obviously bad money managers are that's a fair will -- fairly common trait of that when people declare bankruptcy. they tend to have problems with records and money management. during these discussions of mr. lightfoot proposed the idea that the porteouses file their original bankruptcy petition under the pseudonym ortous. let me repeat that. mr. lightfoot proposed that they filed under that name. he previous he testified to that effect. he said it was his idea to avoid embarrassment for the porteouses, and for their children. because they didn't want it plastered all over "the times-picayune." the newspaper in 2001 published weekly names of everyone who sought bankruptcy protection, and come out with particularly embarrassed i that type of publicity for the family. while most bankruptcy filers enjoy anonymity through this process, involving s
