chris warren joins me from atlanta. look, we know this huge storm that has slammed the midwest is headed east. is something coming behind it as well? >> right now, the main concern is the cold. anything that comes next is not going to be significant as far as the cold temperatures and that storm. behind the storm, we're still dealing with lake effect snow. we have the ray darks the green, the yellows. at times, throughout parts of maine, this is heavy. you see this white, you have the flow coming off the lakes. it picks up that moisture and just dumps a lot of snow in confined areas. over the next couple of days, we're looking at possibly getting still, more than a foot, maybe more than a foot and a half. the snow is one side. the other side is the very cold temperatures. florida, this is your forecast for the overnight lows. even some teens for the south. >> unbelievable. chris warren with what has been a rough weather weekend turning into a rough weather week just one week before holiday week. >>> that's fit for me. i

jim warren is an msnbc contributor. give us the lay of the land here, jim. what is going to happen? >> well, little less momentum than the julian assange hearing. i never thought there would be a common denominator between ramm and julian assange. the fact is that even though the state municipal code says you have to have lived there for a year before the election and only gives you an exemption for military service, the much broader and i think more relevant legal matter happens to be the state election code, which gives a broad exemption for government service quote/unquote. he pays taxes here, he votes here, he owns a house here and, perhaps most important of all, the intent. past history suggests that the board of elections counts that as most important and everybody and his mother knew, chris, that rahm emanuel was coming back to town and going to live in that house on the north side of chicago. >> jim warren, always good to see you, thanks so much. >> pleasure, chris. >>> we don't normally do a whole lot of sports here on this show, but one of the most prized pitchers in all o

so warren buffet, how noble to say he should be paying more taxes. well, it would seem to me to be a whole lot more noble if he'd just pay them. instead of allowing his accountants and lawyers to come up with all kinds of schemes and ways to manipulate the income so he doesn't pay the tax that he would if he were paying a 10%, 15%, 20%, 30% tax. but when you are wealthy, you are in a position to control how you receive income, what years you receive it in, and so many people have been receiving income who are wealthy this year before the rates go up january 1. and i've heard from people who are wealthy that they have money to invest, they have money that they would like to spend to create housing developments and things. but, you know, they're just -- there's just too much uncertainty with regard to the taxes so they are going to do the building -- so they aren't going to do the building. it would be insane, they believe, i think rightly, to start building homes when no one is buying them. because nobody's sure what the future will hold in the way of
