"washington journal" continues. host: our sunday round table, welcome back. let's begin with c-pac conference which wrapped up yesterday. coming in first in the non- binding straw poll again this year, texas commerce ron paul getting 30%. what do you read into those numbers? guest: ron paul has proved to be pretty popular. this group -- the tracks college students and their behind the libertarian message. if you combine the ron paul and gary johnson numbers, you get more than 1/3. that is the great libertarian side of the party. i think you will see some very interesting shaking of the party from that side. the 2008 democratic presidential field, if you look at them, the top three candidates, edwards, clinton, obama, they were running a campaign closer to the dennis kucinich 2004 campaign. whoever wins the republican nomination in 2012 will be running something closer to the ron paul 2008 campaign. that is some of the direction the party is going host: rounding out the list are three
